Honestly... I've been playing this game since the first day of the closed beta. Saw a lot of stuff going on...

But my god, the IS-2 gun does not want to hit or pen anything! *edited* ridiculous... And I mean all the 390 dmg guns. Over half the time it goes in the extreme area of the aim circle, and the other half it still never hits center...

Or it bounces goddamn light tanks...KV-2 and O-I hit more accurately with the derp than this gun...I penned more T7s with AP on O-I than I did with the IS-2....

It's a common thing with the 122mm guns, they tend to have a mind of their own. Temperamental guns, but they do hurt when they hit. There's a few tanks that do have less temperamental gun handling with the 122mm guns (IS-3 comes to mind) albeit they'll never be reliably accurate at longer ranges.

Best way to get them to behave is to keep your distance to the target to a minimum, so you got more chance to hit what you want the gun to hit.

Do note that derp guns can 'feel' more accurate because even if they miss their intended target location, they still can hurt your targets due to HE where standard shells would fail.

Dude, I know how to play 122s... But this one is beyond ridiculous... I missed O-I front cupola from almost point blank... And like I said, even derp guns are more accurate than this gun.

i don't like those Russian 122mm 175 Penn guns, I am grinding Chinese IS-2 atm and I think I will stick with 100mm D10T gun. gun handling always felt lacking for something so low Penn, having played Berlin IS-2 which I don't enjoy at all.

altho Chinese IS-2 has 250 HEAT on the 122 so maybe that will help.

Chinese IS-2 works like the Russian one. Just shoot at everything in view. You will not only hit, but pen tanks like Löwe with standard AP at 300m easily... At least that is how my IS-2 works at the moment...

Never ran into any issues with either the IS nor the IS-2, you've played 169 matches in the IS with about 1250 average damage, just play the IS-2 exactly the same, they are after all very similar. Personally I preferred the IS-2 though, but that's most likely just since I played it after I played the IS, besides the IS got APCR with 217 pen and the IS-2 got HEAT with 250 pen so as long as you don't shoot spaced armor and tracks the IS-2 can work better when bottom tier. If you want to experience true inaccuracy go and play some mid tier LT's, at least the non premium ones.

I can confirm I played both russian IS and chinese IS-2 and the IS-2's gun shoots potatoes. Nothing ever hits and if it does, it doesn't pen. Never had that problem with IS.

Probably need Snap Shot, Smooth Ride and BiA for that extra accuracy boost...

Duh. All the tanks with the 122 cannot hit the broad side of a barn.

The Russian IS has better gun handling than the IS-2 so that could be why you feel it is worse (It is not super huge mind you).

The China is-2 is worse than most 122 since WG originaly balanced it around 300mm heat pen but then nerfed the pen and gave it nothing in return which means you get a less accurate IS
