Well first of all you are comparing all party players to this guy, which is obviously not the case, some arty players are quite good, (big emphasis on others there, lol) I always find hitting the T key makes my shots a whole lot more accurate. Others will ask for a replay, I can't be bothered, what tier, what map etc.

At least your arty managed to fire.

Yesterday I had a few arty team mates who didn't manage to fire their gun at all despite enemies being in the open.

How stupid are arty players? Hmm...lets see...in a game that has: armour, angling mechanics, overmatching mechanics, spotting mechanics, concealment, penetration mechanics, ability to move around the map to get better opportunities, etc etc...they choose to sit in a corner and click on a top down view of a portion of the map...

Perhaps they weren't purple enough

Of course that arty players are stupid, if not all the rest wouldn't be smart.

You know what? As an arty player, I (more often than not) get heavy campers who camp right next to me all game (usually they are high tier German or Soviet heavies). They sit behind the bush on the red line/end of the map all game until enemies come to them.

Stupid, right? And it happens in like 1 out of my 3 battles at least. There's always a heavy tank camper.

Does that give me right to say all heavy tanks are dumb? Well I could say that but I would be wrong. I'd be like you.

If someone is an idiot, it's not the fault of the class of tank he's playing. He's just idiot no matter what he's playing.

You found a bad player, amazing. Print some screenshots for your friendship book, you'll  never come across a player like that again.

It's very simple, if a friendly is near or in front of your target in arty, YOU DO NOT FIRE, at best you'll stun your friendly handicapping him in his ability to defend himself and at worse you'll damage or kill him.

Nothing good can come of it and artillery that do this should instantly be reported for unsportsmanship conduct.

Tbh many arty players are stupid and lately i also get hit by tanks too...since latter doesn't usually happen to me and if it does it's my fault the increase can only be attributed to holiday gamers.

I had one occasion on Sand River where i was moving along the dunes looking the survivors and ran across their arty ( 155 55 ) ....i immediately engaged and shot it once but it tried to run away...it was already like 50-100m away from me...guess where the friendly arty shell landed......? I'm happy that i still hit the enemy arty despite being stunned.

Was teamkilled by an arty this week, trying to steal the kill on a TD I had permatracked.  I killed it and then ate the arty shell.
And no, I wasn't right next to it either.

So I raged at him, he raged back. We ended up taking it back to the garage...

And he supplied the replay.

Sure enough, as he was claiming, the reticule was shrunk, and nowhere near my tank.
Only...
He was forgetting two things:
-1- shells do not drop vertically. Solid objects are not flat and can thus protrude into the path of the shell
-2- shooting up onto a hill (tundra) flattens the trajectory of the shell compared to flat terrain.

He wasn't using the perspective view, so it was less obvious, and the shell had dropped as low as it could go and according to the battle hits mod had just caught the top of my turret. A couple of inches higher and it wouldn't have hit me.
Indeed, I wouldn't have taken splash either as it would have hit an allied wreck and been absorbed.

We actually parted ways amicably, despite the raging on both sides.

Youre assuming he was stupid and made a mistake and we all know what they say about "assuming" things

Maybe he just knew what a thoroughly vitriolic puddle of slime you are and decided to splat your tank on purpose feeling it was the very least you deserved

Odd that possibility didn't cross your mind....
