Since the pre-download I'm crashing way more than normal. I love WOT but it's annoying the crap outta me... had 4 games complete where I couldn't get in from either the initial screen or I get in then get 1sec then crash to desktop.

Any others seeing this?

You should be.

I specifically remember turning off this option. Although I haven't played yet, I know I turned it off to specifically avoid possible crashes, as I use mods...

Doesn't it predownload patch data for later application?  I wouldn't expect it to interfere with the game files before this time.

Yesterday I drank about half a gallon of sangria and after that I kinda crashed indeed, but it was probably not game related.

This.

Pre-loading the update shouldn't be able to cause crashes because none of the data is in your WoT install yet.

Or at least not in a way that the game can access.

One minor mention; the launcher does  not delete pre-load data after applying the patch, so it needs to be removed manually from your world_of_tanks/updates folder.

At least, that's what I think given the fact that I have some remnant update files in my folder.

Not sure if this is relevant but I see the download is a torrent which means that as well as downloading you are uploading in the background.

Might this cause any issues if you have a slow connection for example?

You can "throttle" download speed to whatever speed you wish and prevent uploading also....

Haven't noticed a problem since this download but have dropped internet connection a few times in game last couple of days,' although I think this is more my end and not the game itself. Happy tanking.

Hello

I have the same issue in that the game did the pre download thing last night and I had a few moments when it reduced back to desktop but this morning the loading screen after the client hangs...So I have to press a button to get to the connect screen ....and then on entering a battle a plain black window appears and I cannot close it.

Nope.

And by the way, what do you mean by "crashing more than normal"? For me, normal means no crashing at all, and predownloading the patch didn't change anything at all. My advice would be first removing all mods and then, if problem persists, check your computer.
