Hi there,

Most of the hate chat gets worse only after a player is dead.

I therefor suggest to disable the chat upon destruction of a player's tank, or -at least- the possibility to mute chat from dead players (so if a team mate is killed, I don't get his anger).

What's your idea, mates?

Think about it - it would make the stress and the negativity a lot less.

I agree.

I think you should add a poll.

Well, you can always block them if they become a nuisance, and dead team mates can sometimes be helpful. Certainly dead platoon mates can be an extra set of eyes, so I vote no!  :)

This.

They already removed the cross team chat because that's easier than properly moderating the whole thing and banning people. No need to further castrate the social aspects of the game for the normal people.

edit: Oh. Not sure if we are talking about the same "source". I was talking about immature people who rage in the chat, but at second view the source could also be botlevel players ruining matches for the entire team, causing a lot of anger.

I thoroughly concur.

Raging in chat is bad but often there is a root cause to trigger it, and discovering what on earth that could possibly be should the priority before changing the game. Now let's think, what could it be?

Being able to tell the team who killed you and from where is a pretty good thing though. Just saying.

I'd vote for this or a "Mute dead players," option in settings.

Maybe you get much anger because you make your teams loose?  Are you hardcore camping till they kill you?

That can be very frustrated to a player who did do his best to win.

The main argument against cross-team chat was that angry dead players would reveal positions. Making the chat of dead players invisible for those who are still alive would eliminate this problem and probably bring back cross-team chat too.

That argument was highly inflated. And even if it was as bad as they claimed, they could have banned those players and be done with it.

I doubt that cross team chat will ever come back. WG would be forced to moderate it properly, which would require effort and money. And that's two things they don't want to spend.

I would vote for that and to block them from pinging the map!

Why not sent the players directly to garage?

While I sympathise with the OP and agree there is mostly toxic chat coming from people after they are out dead, a lot of good can come from same people which can be a great help to your team. Example like where that last shot came from or advice/help to a poor player. I would rather keep this facility as it is.

I have little problem with dead commanders chatting - but with them using the minimap! No ghost ping-spamming!

To original OP, Unfortunately this would be a good thing.

All the arguments that stopping this type of chat would degrade the social aspect of the game IMO are wrong and highly doubtful. From my experience 99% of the chat in game and messages are flaming anyway and very few actual tips and or social conversations take place. I can see where an option to block dead tanks from talking and even blocking repetitive pings would be nice as well. Of course there is the option to block players yourself but if you are the one alive and fighting the good fight and concentrating, blocking people while in game takes valuable seconds that you may or may not have. If there was an option to click before the game started that would be nice.

The idiots I just block, but there are still quite a few including me that communicate useful stuff, such as for example the direction they got shoot from, the HP of some tank or other stuff like if they saw a tank being AFK/flipped or something similar, so no I would like to have it enabled, but an option in settings to be able to disable it would be good I guess.

You have the option to hover your mouse over the last message sent by someone over the chat and press "X" so you can block his messages for the remaining period of the game. If you block them by this option, you will also stop seeing the map pings from them. Therefor this post is kind of useless.

That's a very bad idea. They've done it once in Blitz and look all feedback they received. They had to remove limitation.
