That's America, what did you expect?

Shootouts seem to be a cultural thing.

Bullets.

I'm sorry but it's the cold truth.

Mental illness + easy access to guns = death toll

People need to stop playing these violent video games like Madden, FIFA and NBA.

Exactly the ammunition (sigh) Trump needed to continue pretending the shootouts are because of angry gamers and not the fact that people are dumb and can't have lethal toys, because somebody will always use them for evil.

What a dumb country.

So?

People die everyday in worse ways than this. And the world is already overpopulated. Its the hard truth.

I rather think that poor attitude would be different if it were a member of your family gunned down doing something so innocent as watching a gaming event.

And that's the truth.

I don't know what any of this has to do with "gameplay discussion".

There are a lot of "holier than thou" comments. I suppose rape gangs, acid attacks, vehicular mass murder, bombing and rifle mass murder, knife mass murder is more acceptable.

Europe is a mess, but hey, let's continue to "diversify"

No one needs an AR15 however, many people shoot as a hobby and its the idiots in America that give it a bad press. as well as the usual media circus that surrounds it. A gun is just an inanimate object, its the person that does the killing.

If they ban guns people will just find another way to hurt one another,

Well not really. Guns allow people to dissociate themselves from killing, it was the bullet that done it, I never touched him/her. It's a subtle difference to carrying a brick around so you can bash somebody's brains out. A gun also allows a person to act too quickly and kill, a there is no second thought involved if something provokes a person. And a gun generally has more than one bullet, so the act of killing is then compounded by 'what the heck, I'll use the whole magazine'. So a brick, a length of rope, even a knife, all tend to be lone acts of violence one-on-one.

Why would anyone bring a gun to a gaming tournament?

Only in america where you can purchase milkshake and guns in the SAME store.

Sorry, but only idiots would have such a society.

Yeah, but by giving those people easy access to certain objects that make killing very easy, you are actively tempting fate.

And no, a gun isn't just anothee inanimate object like a knife. There is a tiny bit more to it, just do some very basic research.

What do you have in mind? Are there other objects that are legally available and able to massmurder people?

Nailguns come to mind... Chainsaws too. Most machine tools really.

Every news outlet want to be first to get the story out. Little things like what's true and accurate are a secondary consideration, they can always change that later.
