just finished the tier 7 uk td (challenger)

how's the rest of the grind, and how's the current stance of this tier 10 td (fv4005 II) in the meta? (ranks, clan wars, random battles)

Didn't like the T8 and T9 so much. The Charioteer is nice on paper with good mobility, gun and depression. However, it suffers from the Cromwell syndrome which means that soft stats are beyond bad negating all advantages of the tank. If you want to snipe it has a derpy gun and poor camouflage. The Conway is even worse. I found it worked best with the stock gun that has better accuracy and dpm.

The FV is fun in randoms if you get it right. Don't know about clan wars, but it was not used much in ranked. Remember that everything is not about prem ammo and that you will always get spotted at max range.

I believe that you won't see a lot of them in clan wars (mostly type 5, 268v4, wz 5a and russian mediums) but they are quite a few in ranked battles and a lot (too many?) in randoms. I haven't played it but it seems like being quite competitive though.

I planned to grind Charioteer in the next Frontline, but with the gamescom event I decided to buy it and do the daily x5s and I must say, with the stock gun it's absolutely abysmal. Low alpha, extremely slow turret rotation, and even the slight movement makes your reticle huge as entire screen. And you need ~100k exp for top gun. Absolutely disgusting. I plan to play it only on x5 events and wait for Frontlines. Not gonna grind it in randoms and I'm not wasting free exp for this crap.

I haven't really started this grind (still in tier 4 Valentine), but do they have guns or elements in common with the other lines? (like grinding meds is less painful when the heavy grind is already done)

i bought it and spent spent 114k free xp for the last gun and tracks hehe

tier8 Charioteer seems like a fun tank, i guess it'll be a pleasant grind to tier 9 <3

Firefly is cool, Challenger is meh, Charioteer is really cool, Conway is meh, FV is God.

I liked them all from Challenger on, though Conway was least appealing. The FV is the only reason I ever revisit my other account. Go full hesh and when RNG is in your favour, have the most gigglesome games ever.
Although... Isn't there talk of WG doing something to hesh in future patches? Don't know the details, but if it means removal of that ammo type, then the tank would lose all meaning.

I didn't like the Conway too much and it was the only tank that i didn't keep. I kept the Challenger, Charioteer and Shitbarn.

Challenger is quite ok and more fun than i thought.

Charioter is a good dpm machine. It can be decisive if you can keep that gun glowing.

Shitbarn can be quite frustrating at some times but the oneshots and the fact that you have a clicker like effect on the enemy tanks facing you is quite fun.

I'm on the Charioteer right now and are still grinding it with the 20lb gun. The aim time is just too long for something with that bad gunhandling. Hopefully the extra alpha and pen with the 105mm will make the tank work a lot better.

Charioteer is a great little TD, it cannot snap because of the extremely bad soft stats. It does however do very well as a support TD, in close to medium engagements.  Very good dmg, pen and reload.

Conway, i played with the derpgun. As to practice for the real deal at tier 10.

It felt quite good, a very suitable tank between charioteer and the FV.

The FV is amazing when you want to give these heavily armored tanks like Type5, SQ, 430U etc. A lesson in manners :justwait:

The overall grind is smoothies and fun.:girl:

Please note, this is from a random battle point of view.

The tier 8 is pretty strong when elited and with, i.e. a 3 skilled crew. Maybe I should not have sold it.

Conway is pretty ok, it has solid DPM (I use the smaller caliber gun) . Still a long way to reach the Death Barn, but that 183 like gameplay is not my cap of tea.

Charrioter is grea, i liked it very much and only sold it becuase i didnt have enough cash for tier 9 but ill buy it back as soon as i get tier 10. Its fast, good gun, good camo and i think its the best overall tank in the line.

Currently on conway and i like it also, good mobility and a great stock gun. I'll use it 'till the end, dont like the big boom gun because it reloads and aims slower. Smaller gun reloads 6 and something seconds, really good because no one expects it and you can put 2 shots before they go back to cover. You can trade shots with meds and its not easy for them to circle you and take you out. You reload faster than most of them.

Cant wait for the big boom tier 10

I don't know for sure mate. Maybe they actually intend to make hesh available for other vehicles. In any case it probably won't hapoen for some time. Go for it. Even if you only get to fire hesh for a month or two you will have a blast.

Stay with the stock gun. Larger gun is just terrible with the aim time and inaccuracy. The problem then is you are stuck with a mediocre alpha at tier9.

Why man? I think the top gun is the Centurion 7/1 's own  top , it is pretty solid, especially in a t8 td.

Charioteer is a gem.  The Conway though is abysmal.  It may be true that it is better with the stock gun, but I am trying to acclimatise to the necessary playstyle for the FV4005 II.  It may be that this playstyle doesn't suit me...
