I have owned the IS7 for quite some time now and have about 100 battles in it with 2000 WN8, 2295 avg dmg and 49.47% WR.

My problem is I don't know how to make it work in T10 battles. I havent that many brawlers and have mostly played either tanks that are good snipers or tanks with nice gun depression for ridge line sniping. Neither of which I can do in IS-7. Im not good at sidescarping I mean I know the basics and how it works but because of the nose pike if I sidescarpe I lose effective armor on the UFP and If I dont then my LFP is easy pen for everyone. I tried reverse sidescape once (and once again I admit Im not= good at sidescraping) and I realized that gun depression at the back of the tank is 1 degree so I couldnt even hit the guy and I got killed by my own stupidity. so here I am desperate for help from people who have made this tank work. Any nice recent replays or advice of any kind is appreciated.

Watch some YT vids. Probably a ton of amazing IS7 games there which you can learn something from.

You got the best turret in the game. Jusr go hull down and take shots.

Hide your hull and you are invulnerable to frontal fire.

That being said, I'm worse at it than are you.

I have the same problem, I absolutely cannot make it work.

The obvious thing is to go hull down, but I found that hull down spots from where I can actually shoot at the same time have become more rare on new maps.

I like the Obj 257 better, oddly I can play that one but not the IS-7. Maybe IS-7 necessitates more camping and cover.

Side scraping or reverse side scraping are useful techniques to protect your tank while dealing damage but think like this...

If you are side scraping around a corner, the enemy tank could easily back up enough to make his tank out of your angle, that's not how to play well.

It's a game of opportunity. You are sitting around a corner from one or two tanks, you peek when they're reloading.

In hilly maps like sand river or westfield, you find the right ground depression to hide your hull while you shoot.

Never go up a slope to shoot showing your lower plate like i do, you wait for the enemy to make mistakes. :)

There is a button SELL, find it and voala! ;)

Did it myself today in combo with T-62a. Tired of keeping underpowered tanks in the garage getting dusty, while hoping they would be fixed someday (eventually).

Is-7 is one of the biggest credit suckers. With the worst gun of any tier X, and the worst pen. And not only that, but having around 47% win ratio in vbaddict.... You don't need such big of a drawback.

But if you like it - not sure if i can give you proper advice as it seems you play it better than i do, but try to find the balance between being frontliner and stay at second line as support. In tier X games play safe, in 3-5-7 scenarios go pick apart their weaker lane and weaker tanks. Help mediums, puke over 277's. That worked best for me.

Just keep in mind you are not a SuperHeavy and you can't mount Super-heavy spall liner.

At least they REALLY got 246 pen. Is-7's 250 feels more like 212 actually...

Reverse side scraping gets me in such a tizz i get wrecked before I even manage it, I love the manoeuvrability of it, but really I should stop charging to the front, which is my biggest problem in all heavies, they are meant to brawl, so that what i try t do, sometimes I even succeed:trollface:

I am really considering selling my IS-7 as soon as I get my hands on Obj 277 (it can't  be worse than IS-7 in my hands).

Or maybe I just can't handle full T10 battles (this is my first and only T10 tank) or should go full reta...prem ammo. I rarely shoot gold because I'm trying to save some credits.

I already sold Obj 257, couldn't make it work either.

Statistically I'm not doing much better on T-10 but it feels so much better than those above.

I'm having that problem too. Not so much anymore but still I tend to go first or second and then I suffer the consequences. Obviously I go to wrong places...

In a city map hide the lfp behind some rubble, not to sure about the side's I will have to ask my ex clan leader for a training session

All my ex clan mates bar a few like their tier ten games, and I can see a certain attraction, even when I tell them I have no place at tier ten.

I then just tag along for the ride and totally enjoy it, one question about one tier 10 heavy I have though is this the Object 705 A comes with HE and heat, which is the best ammo to use, as it has a 152 mm gun I tend to opt for HE, as both AP and HEAT rounds bonce too much, so how do you play yours?

I dont have 705A but maybe my word carries some weight. You have to carry both since when fighting tanks 2 situations happen a lot. first one if you face tanks like Maus or E100 with bad turret armor so you shoot HEAT and the other is tanks like S.Conq going hull down so you cant shoot Heat you shoot HE instead. Just my 2 cents

Shooting heat at the S.C turret is awesome, that's the most effective counter to this tank!

I have only 18 battles in my is7 with WinRate 55.56%,i love heavy tanks and front line,so would say its one of best pushing tanks i have,Maus is better for me for sure but they defo different with is7,so just grab your is7 and push W,find a pile of rubish or stone just before you face enemy and keep killing them as no one gona be able to move you from your spot unless arty,if you show just your cupola.

Good luck, every tank need to be learned to play and have own small tactics, use to it and you will feel joy from gameplay.Good luck
