1) Can an empty ammo rack explode? Meaning that a 50% full ammo rack has its chance of detonation halved?

2) Do tanks get lighter with each round fired? I imagine the ammunition to be quite heavy but have no idea how that relates to the mass of the tank itself.

Thanks.

1: Nope. As said in the wiki. An empty ammo rack is the only exception when the tank will not explode on a red ammo rack. But with one round left, it will explode once the module HP reaches zero.

2: Ammo has no weight. So a tank with half ammo is as agile and weighs as much as one with full ammo.

and carrying less ammo gives you a less chance to be ammo racked

nope. Allways ~30% chance to get hit.

27% actually. And yes that % is the same regardless of ammo count, as the module don't "shrink" in size either as such the more ammo you use. The ammo rack has the 2nd lowest % chance to take damage of any module regardless of ammo type used vs it. As HE vs crew on an internal explosion is 10%, but 33% on all other ammo types.

what internal module has the highest percentage of being knocked out, for curiosity?

The "boiling vessel". It's why British tanks perform so badly.

I wonder....iirc they mentioned the severity of the explosion depends on the amount of ammo left. Would one round going off still kill your tank?

The gun breech in open top tank is at 100% chance to get damage. That's why I try to aim the cetral part of the turret on tans like skorpionG, Borsing, Grille15 or Hellcat: if you hit the gun, is sure gun damage and if you get lucky, is a destroyed gun. This works on arty too.

Then most of the module are at 45-50% chance, IIRC.

Same for my driver. But I guess it's more a practical application of that famous empirical law that says: "if something can go wrong, it will". ;)

Your tank still gets killed even if you only had one shell left, if there is any difference it may be in the graphical effect and how far the turret gets blown off but I don't recall anything about that.

1.) How does one relate to the other? Why would an empty ammo rack not exploding mean that a 50% full rack has half the chance to explode? Does not compute...

2.) Try Google. You can find information on ammunition weight, and tank weight, for most tanks quite easily.

In real life ammunition has weight.

In game it does not.

I think the point of searching tank and ammo weight was to prove that it can be neglected compared to tank weight.

Afterall 50 shell weighting 15kg each are still just 750kg. When a tank weight 40+ ton, you can easily approximate it to 0.

especially with an aimbot to help it along

No aimbot, just bad luck. Aimbot just aim, same as you and me can do too. Then RNG and saving roll get applied to those "aimed shots" too. Aimbot are probably one of the most useless cheat out there. Your hand and brain are far better if well trained. :)
