POPULAR

I play this game for nearly 3 years now and I am little under 10k battles. I am not a great player, but I manage considering my background. This is the first and only game I have ever played aside from FIFA. I am not a gamer, and I don't have the nerves for games. But I love tanks so I tried WOT and I get hooked.

The problem is that I have competition in me and I want to be the best, but this is a difficult game and I just now realized that...I can't be. Yes, sometimes I do good battles, I have reached 8k damage, but my WN8 is around 1500. Not great, but average.

So, my point is: until two months ago I had stopped playing the game for about 3 months, because I just didn't had the nerves for it.

But I returned with new philosophy. Play for the fun of it. I don't go maniac for stats and WN8, and just try to enjoy the battles. I die first with 0 dmg? Who cares, there will be a next battle and I will try to do better.

And it works! I enjoy the game much more! Focusing on the stats and WN8 and stuff ruins it for me. Play for the fun of it, just enjoying the tanks it's great.

It's a strategy I recommend for everyone!

Having fun is everything what you need if you want to enjoy this game.

And I agree with your part about stats.

It's only numbers. They mean nothing.

Same for me (only lower stats)

Play with fun tanks and I slow-grind some lines when I feel like it

There is no actual issue for those that value stats.  The problems arise when they use those stats to reflect upon others.  Many people seem to struggle that people play the game for any other reason that to improve a virtual number.  We all measure our successes in differing ways.  Be it how many tanks we own, how many battles in a particular tank or WN8.  The trick is to realise your measure is yours and not something everybody else has to follow.

Play to win

Care about your contribution

Get better

Win more

Have fun .

Saying who cares about dieing without damage shows up the flaw in your 'stategy'  I could never just play for fun without consideration for my team.

I don't think you can turn a good player in a unicum just by waiting for some miracle to happen. It takes the good thinking and planning that not everyone will/want to achieve.

The will to improve is in 90% of us and it happens at our own rate and dedication for we all have different minds.

You can't be a chess champion and a cs champion at the same time : it implies different brain connections and the time to build them.

I've went thru the same sort of realization. Stats are actually pretty pointless, but I guess people have to measure their e-peens from time to time. I don't care about my own stats nowdays, but I do rage a lot when I see dumb plays by my teammates. Often using the C word at them and even the F word (oh boi, how homophobic !). But otherwise - try to contribute, play for the win (always!) and have fun smashing tomatoes on the way. That's what WoT is nowdays for me ... oh yeah, and the painful grind of the Polish tanks (tiers 5 and 6 are less entertaining than watching the grass grow).

Agreed, I dont play for stats but play to do my best and learn what i can in the process and let stats follow up naturally without not true focus..... Numbers in a game mean or bring nothing to the real life so what's the point of them!?

Play for fun and just be happy i did my best i can and what i know during each battle.

play 2 win. if you stop caring about that i'd say you'll kill the fun for others

i don't care about someones stats aslong as they do their best to win the game be it by spotting or damage but go for the win. that's fun (to me)

SirFoch is doing a 30 hours stream, 23 hours now, to grind the polish line. From what i saw so far, they are pretty uninteresting except the tier 10!

I play to win. I also play for fun. Losing constantly is not really fun. It wears a little every time. The fact I've been here for this many battles and this many years suggests it's still fun. I'll admit it is waning and I play other games more and more but I suppose that's the nature of the beast.

Play whatever tanks that you fancy (and that includes the highest tier that you have ground all the way up) and try to do your best in the game, it is fun to win, it is OK to survive, but when you die do you laugh or cry?

Watched him yesterday 2-4, tuned in again afternoon, again late night, again this morning and I am watching him right now.

The dude is still there playing, an achievement on its own, would rather shoot myself on the foot than play 30 hr non stop WOT.

I used to work long hours like this or just reading/watching movies for 2 days straight. It's fun but disgustingly unhealthy and brain damaging! :amazed:

People who spend so much time playing a video game, seriously have some mental issues...

But hey, it's his time, life and health, so it's probably not my bisiness...

It's a game - if you're not enjoying it, whatever level you're at, you're doing something wrong.

Only if you're crap otherwise why bother playing, so losing consistently is fun for you guys?

Nobody is saying that getting "defeat" is a fun thing.

But what can you do about it?

It's a video game. You win some, you lose some...
