I wonder what they were thinking on some of those tanks.

Although the last tank just looks like an anti aircraft vehicle and not a tank destroyer.

The Chrysler TV-1 looks exactly as I would imagine a tank representing america. xD

Yeh but recoilless rifles would be no use against aircraft :)

I think the tv1 looks like some kind of shoe on tracks or short boot :D

Until they have fired all 6 then they have get out of there fast so they can get out of the tank reload and rearm them all.:sceptic:

In all faireness, the AMX 13 tanks have basicly the same problem with reloading, though they have a higher ammo capacity.

But that didn't stop them from being produced.

yeh but you did not have to actually get out of the tank to load the gun did you ? you do with this one.

The drums of amx had to be loaded from outside. 12 rounds for 75mm and gtfo to reload.

Ah never looked into it so did not know,

i don't know some people,

i know lets build a tank so in the heat of battle after they fire x amount of rounds they have to get out of the safety of the tank to reload

Dutch tactics for the AMX 13 105 were to have AMX's work in pairs, apply hit&run tactics against russian armour, fall back from the frontline and have one tank on guard while the other was reloading.

That being said, their primary role was recon. For the real tank vs tank fighting there was the Centurion.

In practice they were more like "fire and watch the turret slowly tear itself to bits".

And IIRC Ontos was meant to support infantry from get-go, with HEAT rounds added as afterthought when PVA started to field more T-54s and type 59s, much like Pz4c's got HEAT shells in haste during Battle of France. Neither vehicle was intended to function in independent or anti-tank role at first place... So hard cover for loader was dropped to save weight and make Ontos air-droppable (dunno if it was ever dropped to hot zone tho).

Production errors right? Nothing to do with 90 and 105mm guns being to big and heavy for the AMX turret.

Right?:hiding:

As far as I know the 90mm's were fine. The 105's started causing issues over time. I can't find the source I read it from atm though...
