Keep in mind that I am a relatively new player, even if I have played casually on-and-off since the game came out. Currently my highest tank is Tier 8 with around 1k battles. In any case, here are my issues with the game in no particular order:

  • Lack of versatile play styles - it is boring coming into a game knowing that the optimal way of playing is simply to survive. Surviving is relatively easy, you just have to play passive and very defensively. Playing a medium tank as a camping tank feels like wasted potential. I want to be able to play aggressive at leisure. But spotting makes playing aggressive useless.
  • The middle part of all maps is essentially useless - it's a nomans land worse than WW1 - go there and you will die. This is true for most maps. Which makes mediums forced to the 9-0 line and heavies forced to the 0-1 line.

First of all, welcome to the forum. :)

Your battlecount is still quite low, especially if you play since  game launch. High tier can be quite harsh if you don't have a good crew, since many player have well trained men handling their tanks. With so few battle is difficoult for you to have a good crew (hence the spotting problem). I can assure you that passive gameplay is not the only way to win. Most of the best players are all but passive. And so do I. ;)

on first point i think its due tosame respawns again, again and again.

Its just a routine...nothing new, nothing to improve, nothing to create...you just need to learn some positions on each map and thats it. You got a respawn and you must go on same positions every time...thats why its boring, And also, thats one of the reasons why FrontLine was very liked...simply changed this spawn routine and opened a lot of oportunities.

you cant be "versatile" in randoms because if you dont go in standard positions you just die

on second point its also true what i said above...but theres more reasons not only this.

1. maps are TOO SMALL FOR THIS NUMBER OF PLAYERS. You cant even try to use center zones because you are focused from ANY direction..why? because there are 15 players to fill all those areas and for sure atleast few of them will see you. Thats also why flanking is just a dream in this game (again, too many players in a too small place, maps)

Just quit before you are in too deep mate. Game only has maybe 12-18 months left anyway, so don't bother wasting any time learning it, and certainly don't hand over any money.

NA ran for 3 years with a 20K to 10K peak number, they run it now still with 10 to 5K. WOWP ran for years with 2K peak players. As long as RU can have 500K +. EU will be around for more then 2 years still. As I will be willing to bet the 120 to 100K we have now at peak won't drop to below 5K in 2 years for WG to kill the game off that fast. Even if they don't remove arty.

WOT is not the game that keeps WG afloat anymore anyway.

Its safe bet to say the game will last at least a decade

Care to place a wager on that 12-18 months?

I only ask because the 'demise' has been predicted many times.

Oh, can I get a free tier 8 premium too then?

Anyhow, you can play a paper MT properly without wanking a bush the entire match.

You just need to know how to use terrain to your best advantage (both hard cover and soft cover).

For those of you asking about crew: I have just gotten a crew to 100 % with their first crew skills (sixth sense for commander) working on second crew skill. I am still driving around in a stock Tier 8 Pershing, though. I can't afford to use any premium rounds or any disposable equipment (so fire extinguisher).

I can't tell you how many times I have played aggressive, i.e. gone to the flanking side, taking a hull down position since I have American tanks (best gun dispersion?), only to get shot my artilliries. I almost have a PTSD for artillieres. Even if they don't hit fully, I get stunned and immobilized. I have an internal joke that my commander is American-Italian and his last name is Immobile, since that is always the tanks situation.

If I am not getting killed/harassed by artillery, then there's the TD's which have excellent view range and love to hide in defensive locations inside bushes.

I reckon since you didn't specify/quote anyone, by "you" you mean the whole forum?
