or do you carry on regardless in the hope of getting better?

Skorpion G, I like it.....

It just don't like me, even if I platoon with people in a full Skorpion toon, I can barely make this tank work, and I just so really want to, but 460 battle later, I am struggling, yet I am reluctant to sell this thing off, especially as I am about t get my third crew skill in it.

SkorpG is situational. Can carry vs. tier-6 :playing:, OTOH can nearly instantly be obliterated vs. tier-10 :arta:.

Still a good silver earner. ;)

Games are usually very cheap for me as I soon get a whacking:D That said sometimes I do survive a battle, the utter overwhelming surprise of that nearly blows off my chair.

I don't know if a platoon with 2 or 3 skorpions is a good thing!

Also you need to platoon with better players to learn from them and you need to stop shooting HE.

Doing damage, sometimes a load of damage, with a sniper TD shouldn't be a problem once you figured out where to position your tank.

It's said it's a good tank, so I would suggest you to keep it, but being a hard tank to play you may want to get the experience to play it better first.

Some tanks are tecnical, so punish hard the lack of experience and reward a lot the skill. It's someting similar to Tiger1: noobs will do really bad but, once they learn how to make it's advantage works, it's really good.

Also you shouldn't probably do 3 skorpions platoon, but have some MTs or HTs as platoon mate so you can support them. :)

Don't give up. It took me 2k battles to get a hang of it, and that's after my 35k battles, a half of them in TDs. And I still can't do consistently good in it.

Like I said: it's situational. You can be moderately aggressive if you're top-tier, but that's about 1/4 battles. But when it fights tier-10, you have to be very cautious, because you'll be spotted in almost every situation, and 2-3-shotted in next 3 seconds. So hold back and snipe until situation clears significantly. Only then you can try to play it as a medium with a good gun.

EDIT Watch replays with it. You'll at least learn what positions (should) work for SkorpG, tho some rather depend on the crew skill.

If you're carrying on regardless, nothing is going to change. After each battle you need to think about what went right and what you should have done differently for the bits that went wrong. Carry on with the bits that work in the next battle, adjust the bits that didn't.

I'd drop the idea of playing a 3-Skorp toon because depending on the map, you could all be looking to fire from the same place - good for focus fire, not so good when the enemy realise there's a lot of high-value targets sitting together and focus you back. You're a support TD so tooning with a light and a medium means you'll have similar mobility and can help each other.

As far better players than me have stated, Skorp is a high skill ceiling tank which may be a little bit too hard for you to master right now - no dissing in this statement, there are plenty of tanks that I just can't master, no matter how much I want to (look at my Lowe stats for an example of a noob who bought a t8 prem far too early) :)

Can I also add - 3 x Skorp toon? :hiding:

I just don't play them... I hated the Indien panzer stopped playing it and after a year or two picked it up again and enjoyed it. I have several tanks (And premium tanks) that I don't play or hate playing that I from time to time try out to see if I my play style have changed so that I can play them. So I would never sell it especially if it's a premium tank.

I don´t get along in the Skorpion either. Its a very hard tank to play and I don´t enjoy it. Only play it when I grind credits which I seldom do nowadays.

You should stay away from TD as class as ur winrate and stats worst with them , probably you are rushing to battle first to be spoted and destroyed, I think arty or heavy would suit u better.

I play my Skoprion G in a platoon with a friend in light. He lit them up, I blow them up. It works most of the times.

Watch replays on youtube to learn how and where to position yourself and you will do good most of the times.

I shoot AP now, with 8 APCR and 2, I believe HE rounds, running camo net and lend lease oil for turret traverse speed.

I concur with many of the above posters.

1. Skorpion G is a difficult tank to play well, but when you get the hang of it the rewards are excellent (or put another way high skill ceiling).

2. "or do you carry on regardless in the hope of getting better" - yes and no. Carry on by all means, after all when you are trying to pick up a new skill in any game it takes practice to acquire competency. However, do not mix up practice with remaining the same and hoping for progression. You need to look at practice repetition constructively to analyse what was right and what was wrong after each match to try and improve as you practice.

3. Do not sell it. But maybe leave it and later come back to it. You have already spent alot of money on a great many premium tanks. However you have not spent many battles in tanks from the tech tree that play in a similar fashion to the Skorpion. Perhaps play a few more battles in similar tanks at lower tiers to get a feel for the pattern of play in paper snipers. Looking at a few lower tier tanks that bear a passing resemblance in gameplay terms to the Skorpion G consider;

tier III - Marder II

tier IV - M8A1, Marder T

tier V - T67, Pz.Sfl. IVc (aka the toaster)

tier VI - M18 Hellcat, M4 Firefly (not the premium one), Nashorn

tier VII -  Sturer Emil, Challenger

at tier VIII - you have not unlocked either the rhm Borsig or the Charioteer both of which have elements of Skorpion G gameplay.

4. Platoons. By all means platoon with a better player who has a Skorpion G to watch where they go, and when they move, but not three. Skorpion G benefits from not being spotted until it shoots, and once it has shot needs to get cover quickly. Before shooting have your escape route mapped out in your head. But for gawd's sake platoon with stuff that can sit a distance ahead of your Skorpion G so that they spot for you and you strike in support of them. An allied heavy who can distract the enemy while you pummel it from a distance, or a fast medium or light who moves across the map lighting new targets, and you run parallel but further back, whacking what your ally spots, and then moving on fast.

What oil Nooby??? Lend-Lease oil is for russian tanks. Last time i checked, the Skorpion was a fascist!

Are you serious with these threads you make? Believe me i don't really care, you can make a new one every 10 seconds if that makes you happy. But if you really want to get better at this game, you should give it a little bit of effort.

Start with the maps buddy, baby steps. Use this thread or create a new one if you want, where should i go with the big G?

And no, I've seen worse!
