Hello, simple and quick question, which nation is worth exping for best arti now? some time ago, they said russian Obj was best arti, what do you recommend now? im kinda casual player, but i'd love to grind till 7-8 tier, maybe more if time helps... Also what crew skills you recommend for your recommended nation of artis? thanks for answers!

I really enjoyed playing the russian arty, but i unlocked the tier 8(now) arty before update 8.6 which changed arty quite a bit, so i dont know whether the grind is fun, i just know that tier 8 and 9 are fun

I rather like the American line, M44 at T6 can be a pleasure to use.

Crew skills, well I always train BIA first then camo.

Equipment, GLD and rammer plus food. Get the crew skill as high as possible:)

When I started playing I found out personal missions. So I needed an arty which could stun enemies starting at T4.

Info: German arty can stun from T2, Russian - T4, American - T5, French - T6 and British - T7.

I actually started with British one before I found out that you need caliber of 122mm or more. Then I take German one and I finished SPG Personal mission (StuG) in few days. So I would reccomend you to take German.

Now I'm at T7 and I don't plan to move up anytime soon.

Went for BiA first then camo. Sixth Sence is pretty much usless because if you get spoted you are dead in 90% of scenarios.

Depends on tiers, if you want to stick to tier 7-8, then get GW Panter at tier 7. Cannot recommend any tier 8 arties, some are ok, but mostly meh. At tier 9 there are more contenders, and so if you want to stop mid ground get GW P, otherwise go for US arties and get M55. Obj 212a is also an option.

GW panther is ok @tier7

M53/55 is the best arty in game Imo...

M55 is fast has a turret has a big gun with a good ROF ..good splash accurate (relatively) ...  really has quite a lot of everything ...

I don't have this arty as i got the T92 when it was tier 8 ...But the M55 looks better the the T92

US for damage

German for accuracy

French for mobility

I've had every spg in all lines up to and including the T8's, and French up to T10.

In the end I have, these I play regularly: Gw Panther, Su8, Lefe.

The following I play rarely, and keep a couple of them for nostalgic reason :  Grille, Bison, StPz2, Bishop, and FV304.

I went for the Soviet S-51 first, because of the massive gun for its tier, and the (back then) easy grind from th KV-1/2.

Dang,.. that thing was boring to play. You sit, you fire you miss, you reload, you continue to reload, you keep reloading, you are almost done reloading, you have reloaded, you look for targets that have now dissapeared, then proceeding there are three possible scenarios:

  1. You find a target, fire again, and hope this one does actually hit, then you repeat the process
  2. An enemy scout finds you and one-shots you with 38mm HE
  3. You were up against lemmings, and your team has allready won the game

Anyway I sold that over-bored/board (trtrtrtrtrtrtrtriple pun!!!) drainage pipe and went for the French line instead. Arty is boring enough as it is. The French line has high RoF, decent accuracy and excellent mobility. The latter allows you to relocate often, and your overall playstyle will be much less passive.

I have never owned the S-51, but I have played it a couple of times on test servers.  I had the same impression as you.  One of my favorite artys to play lately has been the SU-14-1 with the 152 mm gun instead of the 203mm.   With extra combat rations, BIA, Gun Rammer, it has a 20.2 second reload and 2079 dpm. It only has 38mm pen, but it has 23 seconds max stun time.  It also has 0.62 accuracy which is exactly the same as the Lorr. 155 50.  Aim time is 4.33 seconds which is a bit slower than the 155 50, but faster than the GW Panther.  Yeah, it has a really narrow gun arc, but the aim circle bloom is pretty good for an arty.  I think it is relatively fun to play...much better than with the top gun in my opinion.  If you ever grind the Soviet line from the bottom, you will probably also like the SU-8.  It is very good at tier VI.

Superheavy arty used to be fun because of the one-hit kills, but now that fun is gone. Sad. 155 mm arty used to be a bit boring, you wait forever for the gun to aim, just to cause a few hundred points of damage. Probably equally boring now.

Good! I hope it gets even more boring and that arty will finally get a nerf instead buff like the last time so less people play this edited

From my top arties i like ConqGC the most, USA is ok-ish, kind of lack luster. RU is bad and french is the worst. Granted that for the 260 last mission the french one is in which i came the closest to complete it, but those matches are very rare.

UK most consistent and almost decent regarding damage capability.

Arties suck (they really need some serious buffs), if you want dangerous guns go for TD's. Funny enough still UK seems to lead with their FV because of their stupid high pen HE shells that no other big gun TD in the game has. WG balance team at their finest.
