Move to off topic if necessary.

I have a theory that it is impossible to keep a thread positive.

"there will ALWAYS be people that say something negative, it is the only always that can be proven on this board"

The tag says arty.

This thread should have the title "can a negative thread be turned positive ?".

Cause as I see it, you started it by complaining.

Some people will always find something negative to say about arty or any other subject. A few of them realize they're being negative, most believe these are facts!

Personally i am making a dutch baby with ricotta, mushrooms and sausages. I don't give a hoot! :harp:

"It's just a theory" - My favourite oxymoron.

"Theory" has two usages.

In common usage it means "a guess".  As in the OP's guess that a thread cannot be kept positive.

In Science, "theory" is the highest status an understanding can achieve and it is the explanation of a fact.

Examples would include the theory of gravity, the germ theory of disease and the theory of evolution by natural selection.

SaintMaddenus's Theory of Thread Positivity is a hypothesis at best.

It has another use, in theory. :P

Hasn't the Dingers recruitment thread has been positive for 433 pages so far?

What would the secret be? Do all threads just need more fish to remain positive?

There's always something positive.
Arty players go to hell after they die. Alternatively, they go back to life as titan arums aka corpse flowers. True story.

Jeremy Corbyn and Stalin would play artillery. Probably Hitler too. How's that?

I used to do this a lot when cross team chat was a thing, and I was in some heavily armoured tank with a SHSL fitted. Repeatedly taunting the opposition SPGists with variations on the  "useless clicker" theme would invariably result in an unending barrage of click, letting the better players in my team get on with the business of winning the battle. I survived more often than not, as the enraged cake munchers would take ever more questionable shots as they tried to take me out, getting their fat little fingers into a real twist. Happier times.

But arty itself is a negative, so the thread started with a negative.

Any theory is a hypothesis until proven. String Theory for instance, is in no way proven. As for General Relativity, the fact it does not marry with Quantum theory has led some to argue against its factual basis.
