Hello everybody,

With the recent 252U sale i was very happy to pick up the "defender", altough the unskinned version.

My request is now if somebody can make a Defender skin for the standard 252U tank with the yellow soviet emblem (hammer and sickle) on the sides.

I have no clue how i can add those on to my turret,

Help is appreciated!

No Defender sale indeed, but now a obj 252u sale is going on, as you can see a the link, somebody made a Defender skin for IS-6 but he has no yellow hammer and sickle on the sides of his tank. My question is how do you get those yellow hamemr and sickles on your tank

Quite simple. Add the fixedEmblem definitions from the Defender's XML to the 252U's

I have absolutely no clue how you work with thos XML's, fun fact when i am not even able to open them.

Is it possible that maybe u could quickly do this for me? Like quickly edit the XML so i can put it my mods folder.

I already have Defender skin for 252u so dont worry about that, its just the xml with the hammer and sickle that i need.

Man i would love you forever if you could do that

Have we got explanation for this?

Have you find some other way to implement "Defender" skin?

of course.

1. uninstall that obj252u mod you mentioned earlier, so it wont' contaminate the actual is-6 model after UML kicks in.

2. install UML. the version folder name packed in the rar is different from current 1.2.0.1. change it yourself.

3. start the game. After you are in the hangar, open res_mods/1.2.0.1/scripts/client/mods/ownModel.xml with any text editor, for example notepad.

4. scroll all the way to the end, append this section before </models>, ie append this r134_object_252k profile in parallel to other existing profiles.

Block Quote

<r134_object_252k>
<enabled> true </enabled>
<swapNPC> false </swapNPC>
<useWhitelist> true </useWhitelist>
<whitelist> R61_Object252,
dummyTankName2 </whitelist>
</r134_object_252k>

you should end up with a config similar to this:

5. save the file. alt+tab back to game hangar, press F5 for the new profile to take effect.

the code I gave you will only affect the is-6 you're driving. other players' is-6s remain their vanilla appearance.

if you want their tanks to be affected as well, change <swapNPC> from false to true.

 Thanks for this very detailed explanation. I was able to to remodel my 252u as a real defender.

You're epic man!

yes, something caused an exception in the decal handling so UML reverted to default empty decals to avoid the crash. i'll look into it.
