Hi everyone!

Can you guys recommend a really easy getting started guide?

I have some troubles understading the whole choosing and upgrading of tanks

Where should i start? Is there a "best noob" tank for the first many hours?

Here you go buddy take a look at this vid..

PS try the Russian tank line first as is generally recognized as more friendly for newcomers (Head for KV1)

See you on the battlefeild..:izmena:

EDIT:...Also take a look at this one its quite helpful if you are just starting.

The Tanker's Handbook is still one of the best readings for newbies.

And advice - dont rush trough lines. Give it a time as noone here learned all there is in atleast first 3 to 5 thousand games. Get in a tier where feel most comfortable, then try out every class as you will understand better how they work and what capable of...so when you drive another class tank you already gonna know what to expect from certain enemy tanks.  Most importantly, read about crew skills/angling and camo/bush camping...those ones are the most importnt to understand faser(i didnt so now can suggest to a new player to dothat as it will ease up a bit your gameplay and will have a bit of advantage against enemy.  You will face alot of small tanks with machineguns and a bit of angled armor will help to survive a bit longer.

There is a reason why Shnuk's post is pinned above.

It's got you covered.

Indeed, though the Know yourself -part is a little odd. Is it about tanks, philosophy or those Pokenomon things..

Then Sask Outrider's Guides and Thoughts contains also many, if not all, useful info how to win more.

First, dont ever play with soviets. Especaly with kv1
Second dont ever play with heavy, its just big target for arty, info about armor, well dont trust that. Its irelevant
What you must look is rate of fire, that is only thing it never change. (all other characteristic of tanks WOT change like every 3-4month)
You should go for light tank(for start, pz1c is excellent and later pazer 2 luhc and leopard)
Why? Because you cant be destroyed with single shot and you have advantage beeing small and fast. Just close to heavy and fire on behind, he cant depres his gun. And after 30 sec he is history. Dont go crazy fight 2 tanks and thats it.
Arty, on other hand cant miss, you hit within range 10m and its good. Higher tier you go its getting even better, look for speed and rate of fire.
Soviets?
Soviet tanks are clearly nerfed, best advice is buy kv122 and if you can play with that you are good to go. You will get for price of 20 euro big tank, with average speed, slow rate of fire and unaccurate gun. Also your gun cant penetrate most of tier6 tanks from front. And you will se lots of richoshet. Also your driver will be dead whenewer you get hit, (most of time you will play with 3 crewmembers) soviet tank can be described as crew is drunk, armor is wood and shells are icecream

As a rule of thumb when you see tomo's advice, you should do exactly the opposite. For example Soviet IS-7 heavy line is a good choice to get started with. Of course also ignore the game is rigged claims.

as a rule of thumb, you also shouldn't listen to players saying the KV-1 line is good

the KV-1 is a slow, unarmoured box (and it will be for new players with no knowledge of the game) that is also blind and the gun is inaccurate. that means when they make a mistake, its basically the end of their game.

better to go down the T-34 line (and stay at the T-34 for awhile) its not blind, it has decent penetration for its tier though low alpha damage (85) but it also has the mobility to leg it when trouble comes, unlike the KV-1 where your a sitting duck

OP, don't ever listen to anyone telling you the KV-1 is goodfor newbies. it really isn't. especially when you get people like the guy I quoted who's played close to 200 games in the statpadder-67 (the T67) those things basically eat KV-1's for breakfast

Are you serious? KV-1 is probably the most recommended tank for newbies.. So you consider T-34 an easy tank to play...ok, how about the ones after that? Or is your suggestion to just leave it at that and start another line?

Just out of curiosity, how do statpad in a tank, in which you have lower WN8 and WR in than your overall?

You change your underware 1-2 times every 3 months? Ewww. :P

No, but seriously, tanks change extremely rarely. We have several hundreds of tanks in the game and maybe 10-20 change during a whole year, mostly minor changes. Yor statement is just plain wrong.

Can you please explain to me how can, start playing with IS7? So after t34 and kv is is7?

Its like you as 7 year old kid explain 4 year kid how to count to 10.its like 1,2,3,4,10

For new player, kv1 is very hard to play, its big, its slow, and average gun

T34 can acctualy move across battlefield

I am playing soviet tanks for few reasons

1.i already have them

2.i have 2 crew for medium and 2 for heavy at 5 skill(t44 and is3, obj257 and obj430)

Can you explain me what happened with my kv1s between 2016 and 2018?
