I'm pretty certain it's a bug and was hoping this morning's update might have fixed it.

 

It makes the alternative arty aiming view virtually pointless and makes some maps almost unplayable in arty.  For instance Pilsen I can no longer support anything on the factory side, I can only shoot at the coal piles.  The Zeppelin on Redshire is now much safer and there are heaps of places on Ensk, Himmelsdorf, Glacier, and Ruinberg I can no longer target.

I also noticed it, as an arty player, and thought it was a bug.

 

Most annoying place your aimcircle is twitcing is the zeppelin at Redshire (the one on the ground, not the one in the air ;)  ).

Good riddance, i've noticed the same playing actual tanks åt redshire, i.e the ridgeline keeps bobbing in and out.

I didn't notice because the last time I played arty was... around one month ago when I did an arty mission.

Isn't there one on Mannerheim line... only tales 7.5 minutes to reload though and can't hit anything  !

Real one cant hit anything too except it is aimed on vilalge or city.

Edit: it basically means only targets that can be aimed at in 'normal' arty view, can be aimed at in 'g mode'.

Idealy arty would do 0 dmg and 0 stun. That would be nerf worth mentioning.

Yes. Change destroys main use of alternate mode totally. very bad.

So...now all we need is a roof covering the entire map, and the arty problem is fixed? Wow. Cool. Now all we need are all maps to be indoor maps.

Yeah gun mode is pretty useless now, but its just one of an ever increasing number of things as every time they make a change (not necessarily a fix) they seem to break something else. I still get invisible cover where the enemy tank is highlighted, I aim fully in with the entire aiming circle clear of the rock I am peeking over and fire only to have the shell hit some invisible rock right in front of me and meaning in order to actually have the shell go down range

Or I get in a brawl in a town, try to aim in at a weak spot and end up with a fully zoomed out ariel/top down view making CQB almost impossible


But they manage to find times to churn out a never ending stream of premium tanks and microtransaction events

 


Go figure......

I dont underatand general arty hate. Arties are ok as long as they are balanced as a tank (leffe excluded etc). Broblem is the number of artiers. 3 is toi much, 2 is bit too much, but one is good. If there is 0-arties, some hulldown vehicles are a bit too good and game will be too campy.

So 1 arty should be in team. If quenue times goes 1-2 minutes ror arty players maybe put 2 arties, but no more than that ever in a team.

Noticed it being a bit trickier but I still find the shot I want after a little aim jerking to get the depth going. It's like you have to persuade the aim to go where you want it to. 

And sometimes the aim circle disappears so I'm just aiming with a stick guessing, but that's a different issue.

Just remove arty campaign missions. That would reduce the number of SPG players significantly methinks.

 

Making the missions harder by making enemies more difficult to hit, means I have to play more arty, which wil make more people upset.
