Yes, it is now the tank it was always meant to be.

A faster, more accurate T-54.

I think it's playable now, i really don't think it's op. The mobility buff makes it a nice tank to play.

Oh? The T-55 was buffed? Anyone have a link to the information, or was it done with the latest patch (in which case I will just check the site)?

It's not OP, it is a nice reward for the missions because before the buff there was no point in playing it

Ah great, thanks. Was checking site already but hadn't gotten that yet. Seems quite capable now, even though hull down remains a gamble with that rather large and still weak cupola.

Also AP pen buff from 201 to 221. No idea why they didn't include it in that picture, or that is an older one.

Yes and that. Still timid pen and requires HEAT to really make the tank work.

Downside still is that the tank's loader is the radio operator while on other 4-man medium crews it's the commander doing that job. I guess it's just historical to the T-54 and won't be changed.

Hmm, I don't think that's a downside at all. The loader has very few useful skills/perks while the commanders has plenty, so having the useful radio operator skills on the loader is preferable.

221 pen is plentiful if you're shooting the targets you're supposed to be shooting at... :great:

The 330 HEAT is great when a wild superheavy appears on the med flank.

Exactly, that's an advantage.

You can train situational awareness on the loader (radioman) and recon on the commander simultaneously. It's like an extra ~20m viewrange as simple as that.

Yeah it's good that they learnt from these mistakes on the PMs 2.0. The excalibur (not played it) and the chimera (one game) are a deserved reward

Yes in a case of dedicated loader-radioman just for the T55A but I would assume people generally use other medium crews in it, and their loaders and those already require some skills over a skill that isn't possible to use on those normal tanks.

FTFY.

besides, with the turret armour still being on the rather weak side with  a rather large cupola to aim at, i'd rather make sure that trading is trading. I ain't bouncing no shells.

I plaed some battles in T54 and in T55A

The last seems to be a target for the players that don't have it

Did better in the first

A good player will do better in the T55a.

I see what you mean, the Indien Panzer, Leopard Prototype and Leopard 1 all have radion operator combined with the commander. Whereas the 'traditional' WW II era vehicles have a seperate loader and radio operator.

Indeed. Are you using a dedicated loader-radio operator? Or how you sorted it out and is it working? If your Leo PTA/1 or E50(M) crew's loader has a lot of skills, then I would too retrain them to have situational awareness as for example 4th skill.
