Best gamemode ever. No tier 9-10 tanks.

Welcome to 2019 and the first ever Frontline thread.

I think WG is not against it, but they still tuning Frontline's economy so we cant farm so much credits in it.

would there not then be no tier 8 vehicles in the queue or randoms ? Also I reckon a lot of free xp is used at tier 8

If credits income will be pretty much the same like the last time, when I'm in.

That's why I wanted Frontline.

Honestly the grind in WoT is wrong by a factor of 2-3X. Anything that helps this is a step towards making the game more sustainable. What, you thought it was now? Bzzzt. Thanks for playing.

Because I think it will be boring after a month. Certainly with only one map, which has some serious flaws which I did not like. It is fun if it happens a few times a year but not more.

They can do what they like to the economy to make it less attractive to make credits (I made a metric crap tonne) but the mode was fun. And it got around the 3-5-7 MM.  Actually it was a breath of fresh air compaired to 3-5-7.

Tier 8 needs its own mode (as the mode that gets crapped on the most)  that you can pick what tier 8 you like and still influence the game.  And Tier 8 will still be in the queue. As there will be people that wont like the mode.

Well, if you got bored, when stop playing it.

After some break, you can come back and play it again.

I don't see the problem in this.

And let's hope there will be more maps than one...

As long as you didnt like it...  Ok. lets have them scrap it then. Many people did like it (like the 90 odd people in the clan I'm in)

I agree, it needs a map rotation. But even still. I'd be more happier in this mode than Advances/Skirmishes.

But I did like it. Even went all the way for the rewards and got to level 30 four times. But that was because it was only temporary. I would like it to come back, with some changes, but doesnt have to be back all the time. I even think the one week for 10 months a year as WG is now suggesting a bit too much.

And you have to think what WG would gain from this...

If they do not nerf the income people will just play this and so WG would have less income. And the income is what most players liked so if they nerf that, it will be liked less.

Got bored of the frontlines after few battles. It's pretty much 3 corridors with 3 battles happening the same time. With the arty-like consumables there's wayyyy too much indirect fire coming at you that you can't do anything about unless you're not spotted. So best way to play it were TDs and lights.

The one week of frontline / month is plenty I think, keeps it special even.

Well it would stop people getting pished off for one and provide a mode to those players that like to stay at Tier 8 or even play a Tier 8 thats been power creeped beyond oblivion to make even the worst ones viable (I'm looking at the Panther 88 here)  Or even the tech tree Panthers (for example)

At the moment, Tier 8 is seen as a Tier to get through as fast as possible to tier 10. (TVP VTU being an example here)

WG dont want to get into (they are already there) the P2W element they have dug themselves into just to make Money.  The game already has a tag of being P2W and thats not good.  They can continue (they will) or look to providing a game thats going to last a fair number of years.

If a game more promotes more Tier premium sales. Thats the way WG will gain from it.

How will the game be sustainable if nobody is playing Random battles and all are farming credits in Frontline? You've maybe heard of the Oozlum bird, capable of flying around in ever decreasing circles until it disappears up it's own rectum. Well that's what you'll get by permanent credit farming in Frontline so when you go back to Randoms the queue times are very long and the game will die, and where will you use your credits then?

Which is going to remove one of the biggest reasons it was such an success, because even free2play people could make a decent earning in that mode.

Once they remove that its going to be a lot less interesting for people to play.

I liked frontline besides some flaws.

but i think being available the whole time would be contra productive to some degree. You can farm a lot of credits, so possible even more Apcr / Heat spam.

You can grind your Tier 8s on a low stress level, beeing in tier 8 only games. So other people could demand it for other tiers, because Tier 8 would have a special position in this case.

And you are taking a lot of tier 8s out of the random matchmaking cycle. So you have more tier 10 only games or 5 TX /10 T9 games. ( Besides it is my wish that tier 10s are only fighting tier 10s)

Most of the tier 10 drivers want to slaughter tier 8 tanks. If they have less Tier 8s to farm, they would probably leave, beeing angry, whatsoever.

I just found out this post by WG on the matter:

  1. Frontline kicks off every calendar month and will be available for a week. Your journey through the event will last a week every month and 10 weeks in total.
  2. There are now more Prestige levels. We’ve increased the number of Prestige levels from three to 10. Prestige level availability will be added gradually with each Frontline week. There will be no strict timeframe for reaching the Prestige. However, you can make some progress and get ahead by 2 Prestige levels in a week. For example, in the second week you can reach Prestige level 4. And when the 8th week of the event starts, you can complete all 10 Prestige levels.
  3. In addition to the basic rewards, players will be rewarded with special points for reaching a Prestige level. Use these points to purchase special reward vehicles. The availability of these special tanks will be added gradually, as you reach certain Prestige levels.

XP and Credit earn rates will remain the same in next year’s Frontline. Repair and shell costs won't change either.

10:46 Added after 1 minute
So, regular Frontline throughout 10 month and with good farm. Me like.
