As forum rules say, if you post anything negative about anything your post will be removed and you will receive warning.

Yeah this is a joke TBH. Any other game I've played usually encourages you to report the cheater with evidence. But not WG, nooooo.....

That's not what the forum rules say. You might want to read them again.

@ thread: It's really simple. If you start a thread and include one of those videos that directly names players (bonuspoints for the mentioned witch-hunt attitude you often spawn with those threads), your thread will get deleted.

If you start a (constructive) thread about it that doesn't break the forum rules, it will stay.

But both cases have something in common - they are both pretty pointless. And not only because it's WG.

It's still naming and shaming either way. As the name was not hidden in the video. So even if it was not accusations about hacking. I suspect it would still be closed and the video edited out on that alone vs deleted. Heck it's even done when they have been banned for cheating.

But either way... when such a video do appear when it looks iffy as all heck and your community react. You would expect a different response from anyone from WG vs just deleting it and calling it a witch hunt hoping it would go away.

As it will remerge once out. As we did see the last time this did happen. And as some of you might recall, then it turned out it was actually a cheat used counter to what WG said first. And he got banned for it. But that was after 3-4 topics about it that all got deleted. Then ofc we got that other one that talked about the enemy arty hacking when he clearly did too. That replay got edited out and the topic closed due to naming and shaming. But still followed by a response from the WG staff.

Like it was pointed out in the first one of these, public witch hunts just aren't a good idea. But like this forum generally is, people get butthurt by moderator actions and this happens... ''Oh no my thread got locked, better make 10 more to complain about it'' is the (exaggerated) way these tend to go.

I doubt they want a witch hunt or mob going after someone regardless of if they cheat or not, people throwing hate at someone will result in nothing positive regardless of the intent and most of the time it just brings the clueless players out of their caves starting regurgitating their tinfoil theories. This player might be a cheater, he might not be, it's not up to us to decide, it is however up to us to decide if we like the end result and thus act on it.

The only thing we know by now is that WG doesn't really care. They refuse to add proper anti cheating tools and they also refuse to permaban your kind from the forums.

There is a reason why these kinds of threads rarely live long. They attract too many stupid people.

Thing is, deleting threads won't resolve much since we are not in 1950 anymore. People will be more convinced that there is a problem with cheats if you act shady and not be open to the topic. So, in the end, you creat a bigger problem.

Making some kinda of statement apart from "we're looking into the matter now" might be a bit better in terms of calming the situation but I doubt there are much more apart from a general "cheating is bad" statement they can publish at this point.

Edit: I also doubt the threads are deleted, they are either locked or hidden/moved to a moderator only section of the forum to clean out all the tinfoil people and pure hate only to come back with a statement and/or just the normal people in it.
