That you "accidentally" kill allies more often than you'd like to admit.

Blue is a warning to mean if you do team damage again, you will receive an automatic ban for an hour (I think)

yes it is.

you get blue when your team damage total amount is on a specific percentage from your damage to enemies. also depending on how many times you have hit your allies in a short period of time. with a lower amount of battles it is easier to get blue then with a high amount of battles. if you hit an ally again you will automatically get kicked from the server after 1 or 2 hits and your account will be blocked for 1 hour. if this happens more often the ban will get longer each time you get the ban within a short period of time.

at this point your team will not see your name in blue letters, but if you hit an ally again your name will turn blue in the team list. this means that your allies are allowed to team-kill you without any consequences (normally you receive a fine for the amount of damage you dealt to the enemy and pay the repair costs for it). you are also allowed to team-kill blue allies, if you have the feeling they did it on purpose. I think about team-killing blue players, and weight if I need that player to win the battle. If I think we can win without him I just team-kill him.

when you get blue, simply don't team damage allies as far as possible.. there are a lot of dumb players out there driving in front of your gun when you are in sniper mode and firing at a long range target. when you don't hit allies for some time after that, your name will get the usual color again.

You are so right.  These dumb players know who you are aiming at and when you intend to fire.  Which is a very clever kind of dumb.  Then as well.  they force you to click fire.

Go look up the word empathy and consider your own silly mistakes.  Using your attitude towards others as context.

On topic.  Play a few games doing no team damage.  You will stop being blue.

Note:  If you turn blue in-game.  Then people can shoot you for no penalty. But not subsequent games.

Yes because this game is exactly the same as WW2 & Vietnam. It feels like I'm there when I'm playing it

being blue has only disadvantage and that is, that anyone in your team can shoot you without penalty + you should not shoot at your own team at that stage or hour ban is incomming.

u should embrace this great TK system WG provides us with, because you can kill the rats in your own team if you have them in your blacklist for example

lot of snowflakes will come and tell you how bad is it to kill own team but just ignore them :)

I've accidentally shot killed a teammate and not turned blue. You turn blue for persistent shooting of one teammate in one game, or regular shooting of teammates in other games. You stop being blue after you've done enough damage to the enemy team to convince the gods that you aren't a terrible person. Because Serb has eyes everywhere it also helps to do kind things like helping old ladies across the road.

That or he did it in cap. As that's one shot even with a clean slate.

Because it's not on a pr game basis. It tracks across several games. Even zero damage critical hits you might have done with arty vs others that got into the splash on enemy hits. Regardless of damage done, it counts hits. As in you normally need 3 to turn blue. Blue is simply a warning that one more and you get a temp ban. Getting the friendly to enemy damage ratio down is the only way to get that to go away. It might take one game, it might take 4-5.

Others can't see you are blue in later games. But the one you turn blue in, you show as blue for everyone.

It happens

Whoops.

In this case one single digit hp ally just getting clipped by a 1%-er shell (all the way to the right of the reticule) as I tried to shoot the enemy tank on the other side of the bunker they were using for cover.

That and a penetration of the rear of a T28 Proto who was off my screen - he'd just crested a ridge which brought him up into my shell's arc. I don't know if the shell went low or not, but the line was green.

Still, those were my only teamkills in about 45 battles in that thing (all this year, trying to complete an arty mission) Didn't turn blue.

You can still get unlucky, but do try to be careful.
