it is tinfoil theory so take it as you like

i believe, real reason why all-chat was removed was not the toxicity in chat.

Most toxic vents i have ever seen are usually among own team members when someone is so frustrated that he vents it on his own teammates.

All-chat used to be used mostly to banter of all kinds but on thing i remember clearly.

Calling out the gold spammers in enemy team.

Usually there was not much complaints against enemy team performance because even if you got outplayed, if you start complaining on the all-chat, it just showed how immature you are but goldnoob tag was something which might have discouraged some to spam gold, as it had that stigma of noobism.

Now, with all-chat gone, there is noone in enemy team who should point out on goldnoob in own team and they are free to spam as they like.

The merits of the actual theory aside, the reason cross-team chat was removed was not toxicity but rather... toxicity?

Or is subjecting somebody to a public stigma suddenly NOT precisely what that means?

How about giving ally positions to the enemy team. Due to all the nobrain basecampers.

It might be a reason, allies giving position of arties or camper to shorten the battle was another.

And the toxicity moved to the team chat, it was not that frequent then.

i have seen that in one of 100-200 games, that is not reason to disable it, nor are sporadic insults to the arty if they focused you

i sincerely believe it is the intention to get more profit from gold spenders which brought it on the table, byt disabling the (natural) mechanism of community to point out to unfair behaviour

thats why it is in the todo list of the WG to fix in next year, because it is fair game mechanic and brings more and more players to the game

lol, say what you want, everyone knows it is pay2win and nobody sane tries to advocate gold ammo.

also nobody calls it "special ammo" because everyone knows that to consistently fire gold you need to sacrifice your credit card to the WG

The only times I saw teammates give positions away of other teammates was when there was only an arty or 2 left and the enemy team couldn't find them, so no point wasting time for the battle to end. I have only seen once or twice in 1500 or 2000 battles in which a friendly gives away a teammates position in a balanced situation

You almost sound as if that's acceptable.

It's not, under any circumstances.

All chat was great. No point removing it: removing all chat pissed everyone off. Of course something like giving away positions is bad, but it's 80% to 90% of the time not a big deal such as when there is 1 arty remaining and the 7 enemies can't find it. No point wasting the time of the game. Also, giving away positions when it matters happens so rarely. All chat had way more advantages than disadvantages.....

So you are accepting of players giving away the location of the last remaining tank.

It didn't matter that it was an artillery piece, or a light tank, or a medium, or whatever, giving away the location of the last remaining tank, is wrong, and unacceptable.

How can you not see that ?

General chat had no point, except for toxic vents. Which was great btw.

there are people with different views than you.

if it matter, i think that giving up ally position is very bad

but if there is one camper in the map corner and you are in the tank you grind, you have all the reserves activated and are waiting just for that noob to die, i can understand that someone would just report his position to speed up inevitable

apart from that, position reporting was happening so rarely that it is definitely not the main reason to remove all-chat

What if the last person left was <Insert famous streamer> in a top tier tank vs 5 one shots - still acceptable to throw the game?

This very rarely happens. As Murro and I stated, this rarely happens, and I am sure everyone else would agree

Rarely ... once is more than enough.  I used to give out false locations of the last tank all the time in All Chat, just because i could :)

There was also the occasional - chatting in all chat by accident, that was meant for the players own team giving away information.

My leFH misses it's victims wishing me and all my family a messy death from some obnoxious disease...

I still get the occasional PM but it's nowhere near as much fun as a public rant from them
