MM is not broken...

It's the players that are broken.

Not everyone can have a WR of 90%. Your teammates nor the enemy is there to amuse you, nor to feed you kills. Let them use gold as they like, you can too. Some players never evolve yet they still play. Some pay to win, let's just deal with it.

I Play to have fun. A loosing game can also be fun. Don't like it? Do something else.

As I have now insulted you (Yes you!) Let's see how polite you can be...:)

They are doing something else... hence the free falling player numbers.

People don't like playing bottom tier the whole time.

Why it is a problem to play bottom tiers? Not getting enough kills? You know how this relates to your XP?

Look, if a new player is not willing to "pay the price" of learning, he wont be here long anyway. Well, some seem to enjoy and not to evolve, ever.

I'm not broken...

I'm just average, and I guess I fit on the 'some players don't evolve' line

I could probably be better if I stuck to grinding one tank at a time and learning it's strengths and how to play it better, but I play for fun so often I will play 12 games a night in 9 or 10 different tanks across the full spectrum of tiers and types

I have T10 tanks, but rarely play them as I find T10 games boring

I prefer playing T3 - T6, much more interesting vehicles and gameplay

I rarely fire gold ammo except in the PzB2 and the Valentine II where I load full gold

I am still enjoying playing this game after almost 3 years, I play every day unless I am away from home

Just had a game in my tier 8, with normal 3-5-7 bottom tier. The enemy had an afk IS7, how happy do you think the enemy team was at this guy?

He, as a top tier heavy on a map like Paris lost that game to us because WG mm made him extremly important in their 3-5-7 mm.

You might think that being bottom in your tier 8 medium is not so bad because the mm gave you 7 other tier 8s.

Then you look at the tank list and VERY often the mm balance you with ONE tier 8 medium on the enemy team.

Rest are normally 2-3 Tds and a few tier 8 russian heavies. Basicly the mm force to either spam gold or roll over and die.

Yes because playing against the maus, type 4/5 or FV in a t8 medium is really fun

When you play bottom tier your ability to have an effect on the result is very limited. The ocassions when you simply cannot pen a tank 2 tiers higher or that your HPs are cut in half each shot are numerous. And thats the case the majority of the time, at tiers 6 and 8 the VAST majority of the time. Its just not enjoyable.

Its not only new players that are not staying its whole tens of percentages per year.

I didn't use to have a problem with playing bottom tiers in the past, I could perform anyway by putting in some more effort as in my experiment in the signature.

However things have changed a lot since then (4 years), there's no way I could manage an equal result now. The penalty of being bottom tier has become exponentially worse by the increase in armor across the board. There are tanks that struggle immensely to pen each other at the SAME tier now, that was not the case back then.
If I'm bottom tier now, there are literally going to be tanks on the enemy team that I CANNOT kill no matter how I attempt to outplay or circle them.

This is the issue for me, not the tiers themselves.
And if I'm feeling useless as a bottom tier tank I can only imagine how the average player feels.
Then we have to take the 3-5-7 mm into account which means you're bottom tier more often than you used to be in the past as well.
I'm not surprised a lot of people quit the game. It's not fun to feel useless, win or lose.

AngelofAwe & Co,

Don't think it was ever ment to be that everyone can pen/kill everyone when confronted directly. T8 heavy in tier X heavy game can  actually treated as a med? I don't share your feelings entirely however I play a lot t8/9 games today. In these games don't really get intimitaded by tier X, pack em, track em and let team mates kill em. In all cases it's all about the ppl playing in teams and following through their different roles in each game.

Not complaining and actually don't know how it could be different from MM point of view?

Wasn't talking about frontally.
Though that is also a point, the corridor design of maps the last few years have made avoiding frontal engagements much harder too.

Concur Sir,

Take any current WG WoT map infomercial video: The are definite places ment for different type of tanks. However Defender against Type 5 is not what it means. Defender is then a med rather than a heavy or you pray the Maus to track it after exposing itself by shooting. I don't know. I just don't see this as a major problem at the moment.

You don't see a problem maybe because you use gold ammo?
