Greetings fellow WoT players and happy new year!

So im asking more rexperienced players to help me out picking a medium tankline.

The way i wanna play my medium is speed and dmg, outflanking enemies, move around to get better shots etc. I ofc understand high armour is something i cant have if i want a medium with these options (speed/dmg)

I did spend some time in the russian line but i need more info before i go any further.

Regards,

Well it depends on which tiers you are talking about, since some mediums lines start out slow and armoured and turn into quick flankers later and with other lines it is the other way around.

You could carry on with the Russians or take the US line leading to the Patton.

Personally I would take the US line.

Just play around a bit with several strong mediums at tier 6, like T34 85 (M, if you want a premium), Cromwell, Skoda T25 (the Czech one) and the 2 Shermans (E2 an E8) and then make a decision based on which you like best.

What keeps you from simply testing a few lines? There should be more than enough information around to roughly judge which one might fit your style and the rest is just about playing the game.

Take a look at this too before you commit to anything. It shows forum users favoured tanks for each type and tier. Remember these are tanks people most enjoy to play and not necessarily the best or most OP tanks.

Yeah ru (140 and 430u) and us (patton) are the best lines, with speed firepower and some armor. The chinese one is good too.

Fast heavies like the 277 line or the chinese one may be an option too.

Remember that each line usually has some good tanks and some rather not enjoyable once. So be prepared to suffer through grind before you get to the vehicle you are aiming for.

For a quick and well armed med i would recommend this ones:

  • 6 tier: cromvell, T34-85, Vk 30.01P
  • 7 tier: Comet
  • From tier 8 to tier 10 any tonk from italian and ussr lines. Murica meds on 9 and 10 tiers are also stronk.

Overall, meds in WoT are fun and awesome. Gl and hf.

Well, just remember that having a good crew is paramount to what a makes a good tank good. It's easy to say "what a craptank!" when you don't have camo skills and repair skills, 6th sense, view range boosters, traverse skills etc so just keep that in mind with all tanks.

I'd recommended Russian tanks because Russian tanks are obviously the best in the whole of everywhere, at least in WG's world they are, and since that's the world you'll be playing in, them's be the weapons of choice... at least until you get really experienced, then you can try other nations meds and make the work too.

So I'd recommend you go with the T-34 and also the T-34-85. Focus on playing the T-34-85 but if you die early, you can go play the T-34 and that way you'll be training up a couple of good crews while learning which you simply MUST have when you eventually play higher tiers. Both of these tanks are very good with playstyles very applicable to higher tiers so once you master them then what you've learned will certainly stand to you as you move to higher tiers. You're going to be bottom tier most the time so that will suck but just remember that and not confuse it with your tanks being bad. They are bad compared to the +2 top tiers in the battle but that's going to be the same with any -2 tier tank.

With tier 7+ I would personally go with the Italian tanks, as they become quite interesting once you hit tier 8, with their auto reloader mechanic. Just notice that they might be a bit more skill dependant than other medium branches due to this.

Personally I'm a fan of medium tanks overall. My suggestion toward you as a learner is to go chasing the russian mediums, since with little efforts you can take the all 4 mediums while grinding just a few tech tree lines.
