Hi,

I have BIA on my T150 and have started 6th Sense for the Commander as his next skill. If I select Repairs for all the other crew do they all contribute or am I wasting the skill? Should one of them have repairs and the others all have different things?

Repair skill and also Concealment and Firefighting work best if the entire crew have the skill but still have an effect even if just one had the skill.

The skill level is averaged

So given the T-150 has a crew of five of which 4 have some level of repair skill.

Assume you are at 100% your actual repair skill for that tank would be 0+100+100+100+100 / 5 which is 80%

Sixth sense is a perk and all perks do nothing till they reach 100%

Thanks Gremlin. Clear and easy to understand explanation. I will load sixth sense on commander and repairs on all the others. :)

If you can manage to find 100 gold down the back of the sofa then it's worth putting repairs (or another skill) on the commander then dropping that when there is a discount and he is at 100% and training 6th sense then.  That way you get some benefit from the 200,000 exp it will cost to train.

Don't start grinding 6th sense. It is a perk and you will have no benefit from it until it reaches 100%. You may grind a skill, which confers immediate benefits and increases until it reaches 100%. You may then switch the 100% skill to 100% 6th sense (but you have to pay gold). You could pay silver and grind 6th sense from 80%.

Or grind 1st skill to 100% and a 2nd skill to approx 40% then swap both for 100% 6th sense - costs silver I believe, but worth doing because 1st 40% grinds quicker than last 20%, and you get some benefit whilst doing it.

Yes - do what Babbet says for all perks you want to get (e.g. 6th sense, BIA, ...)
Grind first a skill to a 100%, then pick another skill get it to around 48% (which goes quickly) and then you go to reset skills.   At that moment you can select your perk.  Yes you 'lose' some experience earned ont he crews, but the skills you were grinding always provided a benefit.

Note - you can see before resetting a skill whether you have enough XP on the skill or not to have the perk locked at a 100%
Note 2 - when doing the BIA reset, check all your crew first wheter they all are fine as BIA only works if it is on all crew members.

Note 3 - check the next tank also - if it has another crew member - once you move the crew over the BIA skill would not work anyway.   So apply common sense.

On a side note - in the beginning i also grinded BIA and 6th skill perks ...

I usually train 6th/SS/repairs in heavies to start.

I don´t go for the resetting mentioned above because it adds games and if you really want to move the crew up you might not want to play another 40% of games which is still quite a few. Common sense will help with non active 6th and good if not optimal repairs.

Since you have BiA repairs is a good choice, possibly snap shot for the gunner.

If you retrain the crew for silver when moving up a tier you lose 10% of their base skill. However if you finished the 100% basic training or 100% training of a skill all the XP after that can be used to plug that gap provided you do not select another skill. This is nice if you do it shortly before unlocking the target vehicle.

Thanks for all your help folks. I already have BIA on most of my crews (if not 100% then will be soon). New skills are underway and I will try out the perk swap as above. Seems to make sense to me. There is a lot of information in videos about this stuff but it can be quite confusing so I am pleased to have had things explained clearly and in abbreviated form.

2 last points on skills just in case you don't know.

The XP needed to gain a point increases ie it takes more xp to go from say 90 to 91 than it does from 50 to 51.

So those last few points always seem to take an age. :)

Then the XP needed doubles with successive skills

Assume you start with a 100% crew and are going for your first skill well that takes. 190,967 xp to go from 0 to 100%

You already have BIA probably as a zero skill meaning your next skill will count as your first.

Which is why the female crew and the other special crews are so valued those free skills.

Anyway

First skill 190,967 xp

Second 381,934  xp

Third 763,868 xp

And so on

Luckily a 2 skill crew is pretty darn good and a 3 skill one a little better but not so much as it completely outclasses the others.

Once you have the basic skill set for a tank the other skills are just fine tuning.
