Hiya tankers!

Last year during Frontline mode I used it to grind through a couple of T8s I personally felt didnt do too well in normal +2 MM: the T69 and the Pershing. This year with the return of Frontline (yay!) I am planning to pick 2 regular tech tree tanks again to do the same with and I want to put the question to you which tanks those should be. Feel free to troll, but seriously I am again looking for tanks that generally (remember: I am a Dinger N00b ;)) struggle with +2MM that would be good and fun to play in same tier battles. All the tanks mentioned I have either already unlocked and waiting to be bought, or I already have in my garage. You can assume all the tanks have their top modules equipped. One or two may only miss the top radio and engine, since I spent the freexp on the tracks, top gun and turret only.

So please use the voting buttons to cast your vote and if you feel like it, please comment below why you picked those. And feel free to share what tanks you will be playing! Will you grind tech tree tank like myself, play mostly premiums for credits (and maybe some crew training), some forgotten tanks due to +2 Randoms, etc etc.

Thanks,

~Dutch

PS Like last year I will also play my premiums for some credit making (since I have 9 tanks to buy when next vehicle discount comes as well as in need of some equipment).

None of the above. Will play EVEN, Progetto, Lorraine and perhaps Defender. As you can see, all prem tanks.

I do this since I en joy playing the EVEN and Progetto, and the Lorraine is good in Frontline. Defender just because, even though I am horrid playing it.

Edit. And ofc the Skorp G.

I'll be doing the T44 until its elite.  If we get the 44-100 I'll finish the grind then switch crews there.  Though my Lowe and amx will both be in the set up.

I am considering Caern but have to get there first.

So you are mostly going for credits during FL? And I dont understand your comment on "none of the above". I wasnt suggesting YOU play them, they are the Tier 8s I have and considering playing myself during FL. ;)

Why the T44 specifically?

Yeah, I have several T7 grinds going on, but doubt I will finish those before the first edition of FL starts in Feb/ March. Later on in the year I will have them though. That is why I like the fact that it returns every month for a week. :great:

I used GW Tiger P last time, kept running out of ammo though and there's never an enemy around when you need to get killed.

Just saying that none of the tanks listed in the poll will be played by me.

And no, I do not care about credits, I am just shy of 50 mil silver and no particular plans to buy anything besides the BatChat once I have it unlocked. (And that reminds me that I should buy a truck load of large repair kits, medic kits and auto fire extinguishers while they remain on sale, not to mention combat rations for my EVEN crew)

I play the above tanks because I enjoy playing them, that is all.

Edit: And the sale has ended... bummer.

Second edit: I need to work on my reading comprehension. Now I see that the poll lists "regular tech tree tonks..." Sorry bout that.

It honestly depends what you need to go in the game situation and what the maps are like (I am hoping we are going to see at least one new map).

I mean like T28 will be pretty decent at capping as it can bounce a lot if there isn't arty focus, the hull down heavies work quite well on the many ridges etc.  The IS3 is quite general purpose aside its bad view range and the T-44 would be decent for flanking and moving up to new sectors.

As for me, I'll probably take out the old CDC again - last frontlines I had barrels of fun in it - and probably use the usual setup of one arty and some meds that need grinding. Only problem is finding the tank in time....

Of the options given: T-44, IS-3, Caernavron and T-32.

Personally I will be taking: T-44, T-44/100, Lorraine 40t, SU-130PM, M40/M43, Object 252U, Defender.

T-44, T32 and Caernavron have still xp left to grind, might use Frontline to grind it, neither is well suited for the attacking side but on defense they're good.

T44 specifically because I like it,  when I play it well its bloody good.  I've lost a lot of games in the grind at T8 ( lots of T10 battles)   It's fun when around it's own tiers and I too am not great at +2.

I used the KV-4 last year in Frontline and it was pretty good.

Both T28's might be a little too slow for this.

All other heavies have good turrets so you really cant go wrong with that. But it also depends on what perks you have active. Something like the IS-3 with the faster cap perk can be pretty usefull.

T-44 is a little faster and can be usefull with the stronger turret.

I plan to play Progetto and Defender mainly as they are good premiums (obviously intention is to grind credits) and also to further train crews (specially Russian HT crews as you need multiple of those).

3rd choice will most likely be STA-2 as my STB-1 crew could use some extra training so...

Have no T8 tech tree tank to grind currently and have no intention to grind any soon so will not use Frontline oportunity for that.

Is it confirmed to be only tier 8 again?

I suspect I might do the same as last time. Play premiums, inc the IS-6 to train crews and get some income. I don't have too many stock tier 8's to worry about this time.

Made about 35million credits on the Christmas event so don't need much of that anymore. So will have a look at what crew I want to train and will pick the appropriate premium tank for that.

But it highly depends on the changes they have made and the rewards if I will play it as much as last year.
