Hi guys,

Wrong place to ask probably so my bad, we'll get over it though no biggy and me asking about other free PC games doesn't mean I am knocking WoT, I'm not done with WoT or having a rant etc, just looking for something else too. I'm open to all suggestions of free PC games you guys might have so long as they're not blatantly pay to win and have a bit of content. I like some collect resource, research tech and build defenses and armies sort of games but I like many types of games. I'd also consider some games that cost money so long as they're cheap enough and good value with hours and hours of play. Oh, also, I'm not a fan of multiplayer games in which your stuff can get wrecked and pillaged when your not playing.

Thanks all.

Well, there might be Calibre (Калибр) later this year...

It should go into closed beta testing soon.

FPS game set in the 70s with specops from various countries or something.

And before the mods get uppity about it:

Calibre is a Wargaming.net game.

So it should be fine to advertise, right?

Dunno, I was curious until I read the part about it being Wargaming-related. It's not exactly a seal of approval unless they advertise a radical departure from WoT's payment model.

Jokes aside, WG(EU) are remarkably lenient when it comes to talking about other games. Gaijin, the developer of War Thunder, bans you from 'discouraging the purchase of premium content'. Good luck putting a bad tank review up there.

Since we're on the topic, I can note that WT is a far more 'potent' game, but lacks sorely when it comes to 'casual playability'. I can drink, eat, chat and play WoT, but the other tank game actually requires focusing. Worth taking into account if you're looking for a WoT replacement.

(Fun fact: WoT and WT share more in terms of their developers than the game itself - despite claims from both camps that the other one is terrible. They even, until recently, had their own version of SerB, with similar terrible blunders. Almost makes you think that it's a reliable and recommended business strategy to make crappy announcements and roll them back. WoT players/forum users may also appreciate that the moderation, both in-game and forums, feature similar, ahem, qualities. Difference, at least for forum-based warnings, is that you can reliably debate them with the mods.)

Look out for this one, hopefully they'll have an alpha test sometime this year... It was meant to start in November 2018 but got delayed.

As far as trending PC games go, CS:GO is Free-To-Play since recently.

...or if you wanna head into the mobile market, and have a thing for anime ship-waifus, Azur Lane is pretty good.

Either, just so long as the pace of the gameplay isn't too fast.

In that case, World of Warships sounds right up your alley.

Personally though, I might be excited about it, if it has server-based calculations like the three World of titles.

Although given that it is a traditional FPS game, it probably won't have the effects I'm hoping for:

Namely, that hackers getting screwed over by hacks not having much impact.

Well, if you like constructive games, I would suggest you Kerbal Space Program then.

You basically take control of an alien Space Program and have to explore the solar system by designing and flying your own spacecraft.

Each experiment done gives you sience wich can be used to unlock new parts.

The comunity is quite vital, with tons of mods and add-ons.

Also, while the graphic and environment may look cartoonish, the phisical symulation is really well done, especially the orbital mechanics.

Full price is more or less a tier 8 premium (40€ if I remember correctly), but I'm sure that can be bought at lower price during Steam sales.

It really grants 100s or 1000s of hours of gameplay and, when things go wrong, tons of explosions!

there's this free Panzer General 2 game online, way more difficult than an arcade game like WoT but very fun if you know: openpanzer.net

Post your scores on the highest difficulty Das Reich campaign lol it's very hard

Don't really care, will either keep on with this or go back to X:Series which I have been playing far longer, if little lately.

I don't really like the first one, I play PG2 Adlerkorps free edition and this open online thingy. PG2 was my main love back in the days.

Looks an awesome game although I see a touch of Halo in this, still good though.

Chess.

Alexandra Botez and GothamChess sub battles were front page on Twitch on Sunday evening European time.  They had thousands of people watching.   Was a good stream.

Chess is great.  How Great?

It's made by CCP, a company that had one very successful hit (Eve Online) and then made like 7 attempts at other games which all flopped or never even made it into beta. I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you.
