who else thinks they nerfed it to much and need to buff it a bit again?

I played it a short while ago between my Italian tech tree grind whenever I got killed early.

It's about fine for its tier tbh. I use the middle gun for better dpm and aim time. Could have had a Pools tbh

Depends on what you want to do with it. I personally use Vents, rammer and optics with the 90mm gun. I play hit and runs and have the crew set up for passive spotting with camo and view range skills + BIA. I also run fuel instead of a fire extinguisher. Mine burns 1 out of 50 games for that to be worth it.

It's still as good in the support role as it was before the nerf. It only lost like 50 dpm. And it did not need 256 gold pen etc vs tier 4's. As for mobility? Well, I would not be upset if they buffed it to between where it is now, and where it was before.

It just needs some mobility back.

Otoh, I managed this before his buddy took me out:

I've just been watching that for 15 minutes...

I have long wondered if I am ready for it, it was nerfed pretty bad, never had a chance to use it as it came long after I had the bc grinded.

Would you recommend it?

I just unlocked mine and even though I got a completely fresh crew in it and are using bonds for sixth sense I quite like it. However at first I was shocked by the mobility, especially the acceleration and started to question my decision to grind it, but after I adjusted my play-style a bit it works better, still compared to my other tier 5 LT's the mobility seems rather lackluster for what it is so I would welcome a slight buff to that, especially the acceleration.

It's still a fine tank, but surely for those that played it before the nerf it's quite meh. I am still playing mine with 5 skill crew + coffee, so it's not too bad. On open maps there is no other T5 tank I'd rather play.

Idk, it depends on what tanks you enjoy, and that i can't know. If u do, definitely you must put skilled crew in it.

I played it with smaller cannon, just as i would play any other low tier scout. It's not the ELC that is used to be, but it's not bad at all.

I've been playing it quite a bit lately for the wheeled vehicle line and really the only thing wrong with it is the engine power.

It drastically needs more horsepower in the engine to bring the mobility back to pre-nerf levels as the play style with the 90mm gun is:

Go in => Shotgun in the face => Extract.

Extracting however is very troublesome as you get slowed down tremendously when driving up slopes or hitting even the smallest obstacles.

Other then that it's absolutely fine.

To think about it, strongest featrue of ELC is it's size and it makes sense to play with smaller cannon to take advantage of it's ability to deal damage on the move.

Also, when enemies auto aim on you their reticle somehow is put onto back of your hull, so even in close range they will never be able to hit you with auto aim if you don't move in a straight line.

So if it comes to a brawl, just auto aim your target, run around it and you should be fine in most engagements.

It teached me to pay attention and avoid absolutely any obstacles.

Tried to play it like that, well I tried to mimic how the ELC EVEN 90 plays, didn't work for me, the 90mm is more my thing, the only issue with that tactic is when you fire and get spotted due to various reason and you need to exit and you find out that my moms old Skoda accelerates faster.

If you just want a tier 5 light, then get the Chaffee, Leo orT-50. Can't comment on the M7, haven't played it as a light tank.

Pushing to the centre on Fisherman's I was hitting 43kph and no higher.

It's power to weight is middle of the park, but the resistances are really bad.

Yes, these are tanks that weigh 2-4× the weight of the ELC yet the ELC gets bogged down in the ground more - on all terrain?

Best tier 5 light? I give it to T-50 since the buffs.

Used to be Chaffee or ELC. Chaffee is a shadow of what it used to be but is still half decent.

My ELC yesterday couldn't get in front of a P43 to scout for it.

Ambushed a Jumbo yesterday. Guy turned his turret and hull opposite ways and still caught up to me as I looped around him.

Yeah that works splendidly right up until the point you come under fire and need the fastest route out of dodge XD

I can live with the lowered pen (even if the TD like pen was part of the special pakage) but the mobility nerf is far too much. There are meds with better acceleration!

Loved it before the changes and was pushing for 3 marks. Not so much now they've changed it, its not the same anymore. A little bit more mobility back would be fine I think , as suggested above.

Optics, Rammer and for now, Vents. I use food instead of a fire extinguisher to get full view range. My female commander is transferred from another tank so has all the view range skills and camo but the second crewman is new and in training since I need a 4th for the new wheeled vehicles so once he is trained to have BIA you could make a strong case to drop the Vents for a Vstab and big gun.

I'd agree with the guys about the sappy mobility. It's a fine little scout but needs a little buff to it's engine power. Everything else is fine but the problem with the bad acceleration is that this tank is a delicate little flower and so can't ever afford to take shots and so therefore it really needs quick acceleration to keep alive and get out of jail. The bad acceleration just discourages players from aggresively scouting or pushing forwards since they know they'll just die if they're spotted and in a game currently ripe with redline campers, that's not a good thing.

Logically there's never been a better time to give the ELC bis a little mobility buff imo since this tank will unlock the lighting fast wheeled tanks so it would make sense this tank quicker to accelerate as to better prepare players for that switch in class and playstyle. I'm not suggesting it should have wheeled car levels of acceleration but there needs to be enough to make the switch over somewhat less painful because all that will happen is, especially with new players, they will learn a somewhat negative passive scouting approach with the ELC bis because of the sad mobility, carry that playstyle philosophy over to the wheeled tanks and of course that's not how to play these new wheeled tanks so they will just find that new line crap and probably stop the grind at tier6, that's also not a good thing.
