Everything is with a meme tank...  Put rules in place.

Rules are in place - play meme tanks with full gold loadouts, preferably if you haven't advanced past tier 5 on the live server.

You not liking those rules is a different issue. :hiding:

You are testing server stability and client compatibility with different hardware.  Not tank balance.

It's basically just a mass bug test, since careful application of balance is at that point already done on basis of the money-counting peoples' opinion careful analysis of supertest data.

I'm not too sure what kind of rules you could reliably enforce, anyway, without making it pointless or intolerable. It's "bad enough" that you have to download the entire 30GB-something client (even if you tend to save a bit by copying the 'stock' game folder and pointing the CT launcher to the new folder).

It has been like that since beta almost.
No real use going on the test server unless you want to a) test a prem / T10 tank or b) want to join the idiots in spamming prammo at everything that moves.

I haven't played on the test server since 2012 because I'd rather grind on the normal server then waste time on there

You say you want rules. Just not what rules you want. As there already are rules. So I guess we are all set.

I think they should just ban the test server

They should use the sandbox server more regularly, specially select the testers, have a separate feedback forum and for new vehicle do what they did for the lights on Sandbox, which is make people play 3 games of another class to earn 1 in the new vehicles, which then ensures most games only have 2-3 of the new vehicles so you have got a more realistic setting.

Also don't throw free XP, bonds, credits galore at players, only let them have the tanks they already own, the gold/credits/free XP they have on live but have the new vehicles all unlocked, elited, with equipment and sensible crews to test with.

I am seeing as many FV4005s as EBR 105s on test and most of them are played by people who barely have tier 5 tanks.

I try to read everything, but unfortunately, this is the nature of the test server, if you give people the tools to test things comprehensively, they will still try to draw a phallus on the map with gold rounds.

This, honestly this.

When we tested on the sandbox there was a much healthier testing environment going on as not everyone could constantly queueueue up in the new tanks and also, premium ammo was limited. This should be the defacto testing if you ask me also on the public test-server.

Test server experience...

1)At the start of a battle type "USA numba1" and get TKed by angry russians:trollface:

2)Second game find a teamate with name XxXfighter69XxX or something like that and missclick at the rear of his tank with your FV4005.Mistakes happen when you are using trackpad.

3)Log in to wot live and play some games, you have seen everything on test server.

The test server should only have one button, "Battle" the tanks should be selected randomly by the server.

The testers should select 10 vehicles per tier they want to test.  Preload ammo, 3-4 skills crews, equipment etc. after aprox. 25 batlles the tester should take

a survey about the gameplay to continue playing.

Problem solved... :B

Or learn how to use it correctly.

You go to the test server, then training, and either join a training room or create your own training room. Not exactly hard stuff.

Worst patch to try and test Swedish TD gameplay. Start battle and you are immediately spotted by a wave of headless wheeled-vehicles.

After a few non-starts I then decided that I'd immediately race for the redline when the countdown ended. Sat there and watched the headless wheeled-vehicles crash, die and kill one another in the middle of the map.

Not going to even bother with this test after last night. Best you can get out of it is familiarising yourself with the controls and dynamics of the wheeled-vehicles. The gameplay is even worse than it normally is.
