On the test server, while trying out the STB-1, I've found the voice and the sentences spoken by the Lady Commander to be very different from the current one.

As in better, since it's no longer that high-pitched, "anime-like" voice. No disrespect for the voice actress but that sounds quite common in Japanese animations and sounds quite childish really.

Is this a correct statement? I do use mods but I have none for voiceovers (that I know of).

Maybe you've got your usual anime voicemod not running on the test server?

I know, I don't. :teethhappy:

Ha...I've never thought of the Japanese female voiceover to be "anime-like" :sceptic: ...are you sure you've seen how high they can pitch it in anime?

This video might kill you, you have been warned:

There are deeper voices in anime...all kinds of voices, all kinds of genres. There should be a saying: There's an anime for every individual person's preferences, you just have to find it.

I prefer using useful mods. And I'm sure I'd remember having something like that ticked on.

I just confirmed it, nothing of the sort.

And... I have no mods in the Test Server Client.

I have. Too "dramatic" and feigned. And where did you got these nice Maus videos?

They sound like normal women, what's the problem? Women are supposed to have more deeper voices like in the west?

This is only pertaining a slight difference I've noticed between CTS and Live Servers. As someone else could've spotted it, I asked. Seems not... ^ ^

Eh, think they got a wider spectrum of voices than in the west.

Some of them are nice and deep, other can be a tad high.

Hm... one could simply extract the voicelines from the res folder and compare them directly using an audio player.

Well, they did talk about redoing the Japanese and Czech female voices here a while back. Around the same time they did redo the German, Chinese and Russian voices. Tho the Chinese one iirc was more of a dialect issue.

Right, decoding them now, will probably be a bit before I can start comparing.

Hm... seems that it is indeed changed.

Although personally, I find the 1.3 ones to sound more Japanese. :sceptic:

Again. No disrespect for those VAs but coolio on both. CZ Wo voice also sounded bad.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me how do you possess such high keen knowledge...
