Received an e-mail from WG, allegedly, inviting me to 'Join our Tech Experts team'.

Had a quick look through, first paragraph caught my attention.....

Wargaming has partnered with Limitless, an on-demand crowd-servicing app, to provide our passionate players with a chance to earn money by helping other members of the community.

Earn money by helping others, now what can go wrong. So for signing up they, Limitless, will give you 10 UK pounds and 1.50 UK pounds for every question you (I) answer.

Now call me skeptical but I am firm believer in 'you dont get owt for nowt' and 'if it looks to good to be true then it probably is'.

Anyone else got this e-mail, Mods care to comment?

So basically like EA's help service run by players? Tho EA doesn't pay that much for an answer marked as "solution".... not even close. I think I got a penny now after 50+ solutions.

Yes but do you include the "fee" when you submit a query?

Not entirely sure how it works but there’s been threads were it would seem tickets have been answered by non-WGstaff but they’ve been more gameplay related issues that don’t require knowledge of a player’s account.

So basically Wargaming gave your contact eMail address to Limitless who now sends you spam?

Yeeeah WG I see you have been also asking my phone number for years every time I login. How stupid do you think I am.

To be fair, your phone number in their database can help

if something goes wrong with your account access.

Provided my mobile number years ago, zero spam received.

Here you got info:

https://eu.wargaming.../article/10745/

Considering the majority of people I see that have issues in the Tech section that have been in contact with WG support are more confused regarding their technical issue then they were from the start makes me see this as quite positive. Thankfully we got a CC named _Patrol that's quite active in the Tech section and he clear up a lot of the confusion WG support cause and most of the time help players solve their issues. However actually having a first line support team or in this case players with knowledge about the game and technical knowledge and/or experience rather than CTRL + C and V bots can't be more than good. Thankfully if your persistent enough and reopen the ticket enough times WG support got quite a decent second and third line support team, at least from my own experience and from what I've seen reading tickets on the forum, so hopefully if the "Reserve Troops" can't solve the issue it skips their first line support agents and end up at someone that actually know something.

Note that, according to the FAQ, the reward is up to €2 per resolved ticket. Sounds like the same phrasing used for surveys and whatnot. I think it'll be a lot of pay for nothing.

Personally, I'd give an option for payout in in-game resources. It would come at no real cost for WG, and be entirely unproblematic. Case in point: Our moderators, as well as the community staff, already get accounts with (more or less) every single premium tank there is (even those not on sale; there's a moderator whose account was registered after the Type 59 was last on "sale" . Judging from Kandly's WoT stream you also get to keep everything even if you're not employed by WG anymore.

Also worth noting that recruitment is based on good behaviour (both in and out of game), battle performance, and game knowledge. I guess that makes sense, though there are obviously players on the forums that would be a great resource despite having had a few, ahem, misunderstandings with the moderation team when it comes to sense of humour.

Most of the more valuable ones probably don't feel like getting paid pennies for contributing to Wargaming's questionably performing customer support - either because they don't need petty cash or because they deem their knowledge too valuable for the likely payment they'd receive. I'm sure some feel different about it, but I'd rather spend my time and (non-game) knowledge to help out friends and family.

Also interesting is choice of the words 'passionate players'. That's a phrase WG employees seldom use in a positive light, especially noting Wargaming's stance towards (EU) forum users in general - as a bunch of whiners that are never pleased with anything.

The FAQ suggests that the 'player contributors' are marked as 'Reserve Troops'.

I'm sure we could use some rapid response and clarification from our favourite community manager, unless there isn't anything to add beyond the FAQ. My guess is that this would be something the players would very much like to be aware of, unless the author is communicated more clearly than 'Reserve Troop'. Might as well sign the tickets with '"Volunteer" Corps', if you get my drift.
