I have an older PC with a newer graphics card. I used to have an AMD Radeon 7870 but I bought a new GTX 1070 when that card came out, because it's easier to just upgrade the GPU rather than the whole PC.

So that ment that when 1.0 came out, I had an FX-8350 at 4GHz and 8 cores and 8 threads. But the CPU is old, and have poor single core/IPC performance, which ment the game was being bottlenecked by the CPU as the game only supported 1 or 2 cores. So at a map like Ensk, I used to get only 40 FPS while I only got around 60 FPS on most maps. And I have a 144 Hz monitor!

But after 1.4 test server introduced support for multicore CPUs, my FPS on Ensk has gone from ~40 FPS to over 90 FPS! And most maps are now running at a smooth 120+ FPS.

I'm really looking forward to playing the game with this new update.

I didn't get a massive improvement, though I'm not too surprised since I only have 2 cores...but 4 threads...

Any idea what sort of improvement I should see on an i5 3470? The game runs quite well as is, but if it will run much better I would afford to bump each setting to max from how I currently run it, near-max.

I assume your i5 has 4 cores? You should see a massive improvement.

It would be nice if the game play team in charge with map, vehicle and MM balance would be as productive as the tech guys. But then again in a game with very small maps the render range is still limited so still plenty reasons to not be happy with them. The servers run and rarely we encounter issues. I guess that's the department who really deserves praise.

Yes 4 cores. Well in that case I might just bump everything to max.

I wonder how it will work on my old gaming laptop. I am not using it (playing on desktop PC) but it does have WoT installed.

It is Core i7 2630QM (4 cores and 8 threads) but only GTX560M 3GB.

Not sure if CPU can improve that much gameplay due to quite weak GPU.

It should take some of the graphical processing power off the GPU, if it has built-in graphics...but I mean, it's an i7, it should run better with all those cores. More smoothly, if nothing else.
