These tanks worth it in 2019 with all the gold spam? I know it takes a certain type of player to enjoy these tanks but I do want a slower paced vehicle to play as a break from the fast mediums I tend to enjoy. I think I'd enjoy locking down a corridor and stalling so my team can win other parts of the map etc.

So, anyone who has played the T95 (which is the aim, just wondering about how the T28 is too), please let me know if you think it's worth it, or if I should just give it a miss. I'm at the T25 AT already but not sure if I want to continue.

How does the T28's armour hold up? I know it won't count for much in tier 10 games but when you got into those tier 9/8 matches, how was it? I'll probably play it like a boring old TD in tier 10 games.

I have the T28. You can brawl like a king against T8s. Be careful against T9s. And back the [edited]off against T10s. T95 however, has enough armor to block even premium TX HEAT shells. Just a bunch of small weakspots to balance the tank.

I am on the T28 myself and enjoying it more than I thought. Like said before, be careful with T10s and some TDs, but learn to wiggle and even Skorpion Gs and lots of T9s can go f themselves.  I have both large and small repair kits for those times when an enemy thinks he tracked you and wants to circle you.

The hitpoints melt away surprisingly fast if you're brawling with it. They're good tanks, but you might as well grind a proper heavy tank if you're just going to block off a corridor. Pushing a corridor, on the other hand...

I second this

T 28 is pretty solid and the T95 is great after the buff.

T28 is good but needs a healthy diet of gold to be effective against many tier 10's

The T95 is probably the best tier 9 IMHO the armour is insane and makes a mockery of all tier 10's it got a speed buff a while ago and still horribly op.

The T110E3 is almost as good and is probably the easiest tier 10 I've ever played

I bought my T28 quite recently and all I can say is that I enjoy playing it a lot.Even vs tier X it stays competitive. They will introduce also a premium new tank TD like the T28 soon as well so u could buy it for crew training.

PS: This message contains advertisement. Hey WG, dont worry u can pay me later ;)

Both are very strong in current game.
T28 have 250+ mm of effective frontal armour with certain parts which are way stronger. So you need like 290mm+ of Penetration to reliably go through.

The lfp is weaker (pennable by 220mm+ guns), and the cupola can be penned by regular T8 tanks if they hit.

If you hide lfp, you can stand up to anything with lower then 290 pen and be safe, so only some premium shooting T9, all premium shooting T10 and a TDs are dangerous.

The T95 is even stronger since it can reliably bounce anything frontally. Only the tiny cupola is a weakspot (required like 250-260 to go through reliably) and the tiny lfp.

Both are very strong in current meta game, and you will most probably win more games in them and do more damage in them compared to your regular medium tanks.

I own the T28, already because of the uniqueness. Sometimes the armor works, sometimes you don't block a single shell. Overall it's quite fun to play, except you get those matches that are over before you reach the battlefield...

Thanks everyone! I'll grind my way to the T28 then. Probably will free xp the top gun considering the 105mm looks unusable at tier 8.

That is the down side, sometimes your team is just too good and you spend most your game enjoying the HD graphics.. That said, if they're not that good, it's always funny when you catch up to the frontline, round the corner and watch the enemy tanks collectively crap themselves as they fight to see who can backpedal the fastest.. :D

If you got the FXP to spare go for it, but I just used the stock gun and fired a few extra gold rounds when necessary. It worked pretty well for me as you get the extra DPM and you can just sit there a lot of the time as it's not like there's all that much that can hurt you too badly.
