I'm thinking about uninstalling for a while, not through unhappiness with the game but because I seriously need to get on with other stuff and the computer I do most work from is also the computer I play WoT on. It's just too easy to get distracted. So for a month or so I might just uninstall the game, not a lot happens in the game at this time of year anyway.

So my question is, are there any files worth hanging onto? For example, The replay folder. Not terribly worried if this goes but I assume I would lose my replay history if I uninstalled.

Any files or folders I should keep copies of?

Keep the Windows system folder.

If you haven't got the new WoT launcher yet and don't want it when you need to reinstall the game.....then keep the old WoT installer.

Other than that, there's nothing you need to keep....unless you love keeping old replays that stop working after each update .

no need to keep anything. there are folders with graphic and other settings in c:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Wargaming.net\ but its not that hard to do it again after fresh install

Uh. Just decide to not play for that time. Should be possible.

If you don't care about replays or screenshots, I doubt that there is anything left to care about.

Besides screens and some replays you want. Nothing really. The cache has all your settings etc. And that's not even in the WOT folder. Nor will be deleted if you uninstall.

And replays you want to keep around I always upload to WOT replays. So if I do delete the folder. It won't matter.

Shoot some green tanks untill you get a 1 month ban then you dont need to uninstall anything.

Or just copy WoT to external disk an put back when you have time to play again, probably much faster then reinstalling.

Put the shortcut in the trash bin.

It's not well known, but you can request that support freezes your account.

This stops you playing, but also freezes prem time usage.

Ok thanks people, sounds like you can uninstall without too much grief or disruption when you decide to play again.

No need to keep anything. Replay folder should be almost empty anyway as you probably should save only the last battle otherwise those things are going to pile up fast. If you're not making videos don't save them all.

You can delete everything WG related. Your settings will be saved on your account.

Replays are small.  I move mine to a different place every update though.  Makes defragging quicker (who cares if replays are fragmented?)

I noticed long ago when the game was like 12 Gb that for some reason was over 20 and the reason was the replays. Since then i left only last match to save. I have space now but i'd rather save it for porn or something more useful than replays from last week that i never use.

This thread has been moved to off-topic due to not being gameplay related.

I'd say keep some of the mod files like tank skins or voicepacks.

Those usually don't get outdated quickly.

Maybe the screenshots folder, or just a few nice ones in there.
