Great video.

Not realistic though, can't be according to WG.

Firstly it hit the target and secondly it didn't bounce.

The first 3 seconds are not a very pleasant experience if you have headphones on and have the sound turned up :bajan:

I was more impressed with the recoilless rifle. I mean tank round vs car is pretty predictable. The blast on that gun, however, was [edited] shocking! :B

I know you're joking, but that's sort of what could happen if they used the sabot round they loaded before shooting. I mean, you wouldn't want to experience the impact, but it'd likely be less dramatic than ideal. What they actually fired looks like a dummy HEP round, which is bound to be softer than a normal projectile and leave a more satisfying effect on target (instead of smashing "clean" through). The L7, from what I can tell, did not have any kind of 'normal' AP round like the one shown in flight, but the shape is similar to a HEP.

The Swedes have done similar tests with 'soft-cored' sabot rounds (PELE), which provide more post-penetration effect (at the cost of armour penetration, presumably). According to Rheinmetall, they're a cost-effective and safe variant that also can be used for training.

Rather happy the Swedes aren't too secretive about their research. :)

As I observed when this popped up on my Twitter feed this is what passes for a land Rover in modern times.  If they were shooting a landy from the 60's they'd have needed gold ammo.
