Had an 'interesting' game last night where the Lowe on our own team took exception to me playing an M53/M55 and so decided to push me right to the back of the map and sit in front of me for the whole game thereby rendering two of us useless.

I've only ever seen this before on Claus Kellerman videos and, while I can understand the dislike of arties (I've suffered very badly while playing tanks like the T95) it seemed a bit baffling to me, especially as this bloke had played 50K+ games, had almost 1000 WN8 and a 50% win rate so obviously doesn't do this in every game.

Anyway, I haven't come here for sympathy and doubtless some are cheering for what this bloke did but my point is I have the replay and was going to raise a ticket with Wargaming to try and get him banned.

However, Wargaming don't accept tickets about toxic friendly team play, just relying on in-game reports which I was under the impression are useless?!  I thought that was just put there as a 'venting mechanism' for when you're pissed off and doesn't actually do anything.  Has anyone ever had any action taken against them as a result of that.

So, unless someone can advise me differently, my only course of action now is to send the replay to Claus?

Marvellous!  Be as toxic as you like to your own team mates in game and, as long as you don't go blue, nothing will happen.

Raise the ticket with a topic of "physics abuse".

I tried doing that, but it gave a message that the support team don't accept tickets about that and in-game reporting is the only option.

I'm not crying, but I'd like to put a bit of effort into trying to get him banned.  If it's impossible then fair enough.

Open it again.  Some support just want to close tickets as fast as possible, so you got unlucky

imagine the amount of tkts going in if everyone complained about trivial things, I know its maddening but I would have just got up fetched a beer and have a quick natter with the Mrs.

players like that are few and far between its happened to me twice in 9 years playing , as I said in my post that player is a bellend and karma can be a [edited]sometimes, btw if you want to meet like minded players then in garage use the forumites channel

good luck in the future and hopefully it will be many moons before you meet another idiot

I was in that game actually.  On the enemy team in the 704.  I will never forget it.  BTW, his account is still active, although he has not played a battle in just over 1 year.

They give an official disclaimer about not accepting tickets on that topic but if you word your request politely and explain clearly the abuse, giving them the time stamp in the replay so they do not feel like they might be wasting their time watching the whole thing and having to guess what you meant, then they'll usually give a polite 'we'll look into it' type response.

Do not expect to be told the results of any such inquiry.

General hint: The support is very bad, so just reopen it and hope for a more competent support guy.

As stated above if you are persistent and word it correctley eventually they will look into it. They wont tell you the results of it, but you can look on wotlife etc and see if they keep playing, One guy who trolled me and another arty in the same game decided not to play for about 6 months just after my ticket went in - coinidence or not - make your mind up lol.

Thanks everyone.

FWIW I was (surprisingly) calm about it.  Didn't rage in the in-game chat, just asked him why he was doing it, and laughed a few times at the ludicrousness of the situation.  Had a chat after the game in the garage about it with him too which was very amicable.

I found the whole thing baffling to be honest, especially as he is not a terrible or new player.  Maybe he'd been hit so often by arty in the previous game he'd flipped out like Michael Douglas in Falling Down.

So no rage or tears on my part, but if someone deliberately ruins my game I will try my utmost to inconvenience them through whatever 'official' mechanisms Wargaming provide.  Watching Claus' videos is funny but absolutely boils my piss at the same time.

WG no longer publish banned status via the API.

I know he did get a ban.

It might have expired or be ongoing

FYI.

The best solution for _________ (insert your own expletive here) like that is simply sending the vid's to Youtubers like Claus and JIngles and Dezgamers and such.  Other then that, suck it up, and move on after reporting.  It is very rare to get the outcome you or any other normal human might expect.

Maybe I should have tried to get this guy banned for "mechanics abuse"

Highly unlikely that he didn't get banned based on the numerous vids in which he was the star.  But I don't think it was the right kind of ban.  (the one which is FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER)
