It seems some players have huge difficulties calculating if they should or should not purchase personal fame bonuses.
I saw one calculation in NA forum, but apparently it was made by retard.
So please let me introduce another calculation made by another retard, me:

Level Fame cost Fame boost Total fame boost Base fame needed Fame needed to cover cost
1 10 5% 5% 200 210
2 50 5% 10% 1000 1100
3 250 10% 20% 2500 3000
4 1000 20% 40% 5000 7000
5 2500 20% 60% 12500 20000
6 5000 30% 90% 16667 31667
7 20000 30% 120% 66667 146667
8 30000 40% 160% 75000 195000
9 40000 40% 200% 100000 300000
10 50000 40% 240% 125000 425000

Let me open up this by example:

If you have purchased lvl 4 personal fame boost and are considering going up to lvl 5. This is how it sums up:
At level 4 you earn base fame of 12500 which means with 40% bonus total of 17500 fame points
At level 5 you earn base fame of 12500 which means with 60% bonus total of 20000 fame points
Difference between these two is 2500 fame points which is the cost of lvl 5 bonus.
Naturally this means that all fame earnings over that 20k is for your benefit and you did the right choice purchasing lvl 5 fame boost. If you don't manage to go over that 20k limit, you should've stayed at lvl 4 fame boost.

It is very possible that I did this wrong since I don't have enough fingers for such big numbers.
I which case, please feel free to share your flawless version of the same crap.

Yeah, it's a bit annoying that you cant fix a typo at topic.
Would definitely change it to "fame boobs calculation"

So the question that many people have is: how many fame points do you need to be in the top 10.800 at the end of the campaign?

Let's try to find out by using the statistics from the past few days.

I started by writing down the amount of points needed for position #10.800, each day. I didn't start earlier because idk. Do note that I wrote down the needed points the morning after each playing day, so also the late night points were distributed. So this morning I wrote down the numbers for 29th of January (yesterday). The number for the 3rd of February is the estimate of needed points at the end.

Ofcouse each day the amount of needed points is growing, but the growth itself is also increasing each day by a little over 250 (for the past few days at least). For estimating how many points you need, I used '250' as the change in growth each day. By doing this I found out you will need more than 22k fame points at the end of the campaign, to be in the top 10.8k. Ofcourse it's still an estimate and changes will happen, but 15k points will probably not cut it.

thanks man, would be awesome if u could update this a few times with more data sets coming in

Also, maybe a calculation of the most efficient way to spend the famepoints after the campaign, i estimated i need to get around 18k points to get tank and get most of the good stuff from the rewards not spending any famepoints on buying  credits or any of the expensive personal  reserves or items costing over 5k points.

Daily increase kept growing. So the previously picked '250' definitely is too low. I updated the sheet and put '300' as growth factor (above). I also made an estimate based on a constantly increasing growth factor (below). Even if the daily increase (in points that are needed for position #10.800) keeps growing with 50 (so 350, 400, 450 and 500 on the last day) the amount of points (for p. 10.8k) will be well below 25k (24.105).

TLDR: if you have 25k fame points, you will be in the top 10.800 players. 23.000 fame points are likely not enough.

so many people who bought the 5k and 2.5k upgrades , are gonna regret it ;( not sure why wg would make a system where people can screw themselves over wasting two weeks of all night stress for 5 hours  losing tank to this crazy rate of points last few days

Points needed for position 10.800 went up again, by 'just' 2406 points. Which means the growth might slow down a bit. Because of that deviation from the trend it gets harder to predict the amount of points to be safe. The decreasing growth might be because of stacked penalties due to 'no show', but it's hard to draw conclusions I think. Only conclusion that might be drawn is that you will need a little less points to be safe. Interested to see the changes tonight :)

This guy is pretty good at these calculations predicting the amount of famepoints needed.
