Hello tankers.

Im trying to guess how much bonds it will take to win a CW reward tank in the auction with a bid.

I included a poll to get a sample of how people will bid. PLEASE do not vote if you re not planning to participate in the auction or you re aiming for a top 10.800 finish and you have decent chances of getting there!

Last year's cw campaign there were only 100 tanks available and the lowest bid to get the tank was at around 12.750 bonds.

This campaign the number of tanks increased a lot. From 400 initially to 600 as compensation to the bugs in the 1st day of the campaign.

To be eligible for the auction you need to play at least 5 games in the event and have at least 5.000 bonds.

My personal guess is that since there are 6 times more tanks the price will have to go down simply by going with the law of supply and demand.

But of course things arent always that simple.

Players were probably saving their bonds for this campaign for the last 13 months since the last event plus there were news that a new shop with items for bonds will come later this year and finally the loyalty event  a few months ago that gave old players up to 5000 bonds.

So we will have an influx of players with lots of bonds. But i think this will balance out and imho the 12.750 bonds line will hold or even go down slightly.

After all,  a lot of players who have tons of bonds will finish in the top 10.800 places and wont participate in the auction.

Is there anything i am missing ? What do you think ?

P.S. A reminder , please do not vote if you dont plan to participate in the auction or you re aiming for a top 10.800 place and have decent changes to get there. Thanks.

  • A lot of bonds were distributed since last year's campaign so the bar might be raised a bit.
  • There is a new reward tank this campaign and that's a lot of demand.

Non conclusive!

Your second point about higher demand due to the new Chieftain tank is valid.

But your first point about many bonds that have been distributed since the last campaign isnt really valid due to the fact that many of the players with 20.000+ bonds will be in the 10800 winners that wont bid in the auction.

Expecting it to go sky high.

One thing to remember that the auction in Arms race was only for M60, 121B and T95E6. You weren't able to get Obj907 or VK72 through the auction. Now that those two are available people will probably bid crazy bonds for 907's alone.

There was that train robbery event with daily bonds giveaway and the loyalty event that you mentioned plus the normal accumulation from just playing the game so i wouldn't be surprised if people have more bonds than a year ago. These just need to play 5 battles, like you mentioned, not necessarily in the 10800. It also depends on how good WG calculations are. :)

I'm a rebel, not going to bid anything, but voted still.

15k max would be for me, IF I really wanted the tank and couldn't play more than 5 games during the campaign. I have 33k bonds btw.

I think i will make the top 10k now i've played more games than i thought i would. But i didn't think at the start and thought i might have to bid for one of the tanks. I think quite a few folk will have amassed bonds and therefore the auction costs will be high.

I have 23,163 now and had planned to bid a lot of it. Although I would wait until the last moment as they might be hints leaked that they will be more valuable saved elsewhere and not spent on the Cheiftain.

Like an announcement one day after the auction with availability of foch 155, fv215b and fv183 for bonds.

With some off topic, is 155 worth it? Got the other two...

Played it a few times on other accounts. Imo it's nice, but it's not 'meta'.

I would spend ±15k on it if I have to, since I don't have more bonds.

I have 20.500 bonds and I'm going to bid them all for the Obj 907. I don't care about any other tank to be honest....

Well you should.

Imho EVERYONE should bid for the 907 which is best and if you have it already then bid for the Chieftain which appears to be good+ or the VK72.01 cause its going to be retired even though i think its not as good as the others , its for heavy tank lovers but on the other hand Chieftain is probably a better all around heavy so why would u pick the VK72.

I said 23,000+ simply because these thing appeal to the ego rather than common sense. It's a bit like the kid driving down the street with his audio playing to the max while his exhaust is dragging on the ground, or the kid with his new trainers who's just stepped in dog shyte, the smug satisfaction will never wear off until the obvious thing is pointed out to them.

zero , because I prefer to stay in the first 10k players and win and pay the 4k bond tank instead of spending 15k bonds
Better to preserve my bonds [almost 30000] to buy future tier X and even 8

its a fun tank to meme around in but there are times it lives up to its name "foch750dpm"

depending on price it could be worth yes

I wish I was lucky enough to be able to play more in this event and just spent 4000 on the tank, but it's next to impossible. The first battle start after 22:00 (my country hour) which is way too late. Still, I hope I will be able to play those 5 battles in order to bid for the 907.

WG said that this isn't the last time 907 and VK will be for offer.

A question ; if you bid and you don't win a tank, do you still lose your bonds, ? i'm asking because i did not take part of the last year's bidding

No you don't lose if your bid is not successful. Also it is just the highest 600 bids regardless of tank (ie the choice of tank is irrelevant).
