This map is probably the worst map ever created in this game, its anoying to pretty much every class who plays it, and forces every player to sorta over commit to one area being very hard to counter flanking or when the enemies get you surrounded from two sides, also the map is in majority of its space useless, its basically a 2 corridor map with a large killzone valley, that pretty much only light tanks can use, 

 

In late game the map really show's its problems because in 1 vs 1 situations its very easy for a player to run and then reset the cap, since there are 2 long escape routes, so draw's will not be a rare situation in a map like this... 

 

This map really makes me wonder, why did you removed sacred valley? because sacred valley compared to this was a much better map, way more fun to play,  

 

Maps should be made by people who play the game and understand it, for this reason, it would be a good idea from you to release a toolkit for players/community built maps so they can latter be tested to be in rotation, other mmo's have done it for years, you should start thinking about it.

Disagree . It's great fun to play in a TD, and I'm enjoying finding all the hidey holes and weak spots.

Its a pretty bad map, but it is not my worst one for sure either.

Mountain pass, Ensk,Paris and Mines are worse ,especially for high tier games.

Well, I've found more than one.  But then I haven't played it that much, it only seems to come up once a week or so, for me,

You're quite right in your observations, at least when it comes to the 'standard' mode. What do you think about the map in encounter/assault modes? I've found those to be far more interesting, on that map in particular. It changes the dynamic a lot.

 

As for who are making the maps, it's very obvious that the maps are made with extreme care and attention to details. Why else would you literally have areas designated for specific tank classes/roles? It's one way to make it somewhat more likely for an, ahem, 'casual' player to have a decent game if you direct him to an area where his tank has the highest chance of giving a decent result.

Could you give a brief description of what you generally do in a TD on that map? I'm honestly curious.

Sure, I also found TDs in dumb spots. That's why I said viable spot, not useless.

It has some nice spots. But map suffers the same way as all Asian themed maps before it. 9 out 10 games are a massive K lane lemming fail. And thus why it's on my #1 spot of most hated maps atm.

But most of the player base don't get why a map is good or bad anyway so is it a big deal?    I liked the variety and would welcome back a whole load of BAD maps just to get more variety.  Hidden Valley, Dragon ridge, Port.

 

But we got back province but at a tier it shouldn't be played at, province was good at Tier 3.  It should be tops 4 really.

Maybe maps are being played wrong tiers.

Agree, those are all much worse maps. 

 

Empires Border is meh to poor, I'd never call it a good map, it's got a whole side that is largely pointless and it's badly balanced for Assault. 

 

It's probably a 4/10 for me, those ones above are more like 1/10, 2 if I am being generous.

I only play standard mode battles, encounter/assault and grand battle are dissabled in my settings.

I can confirm and agree that this map is one of the most if not the most broken map in the history of WoT. For the assault mode this coridor map offer 5% winrate from the start for the attackers, so pray to the Lord to get some unicorns in your team because even if the enemy team is bad, they can still win on defending side. :teethhappy: Usually when i get this map and i am on attackers side, i go right flank and fight till i die from all the snipers from the back + arty wich is always focusing you. Even if there are 14 players more in your team :D because XVM exist and i don't know why and who made it... but he did a big mistake.

Depends on the spawn but generally I make my way to the middle masif.  There's a couple of good spots on top of the ridge there (one behind a big rock formation and the other is alongside one of the walls that forms a gateway at the top of the ridge) - however, if I'm in a slower TD (like an FCM or a Borsig) then I might wait about 3/4 along the way to the ridge and bush-camp to pick off the enthusiastic enemy mediums...

op I see your point to a degree its not the finest of maps , however Paris is just abysmal unless your in a scorpion then its troll city but on the whole its just megabad

Erlenberg?... nobody?... that map after rework is just awful in every way... it was good open map that favoured bold attacks.... now it just camping flanks and middle corridor... wtf?

I don't like pretty much every single map in this game.

 

I can't believe how map design went so wrong during all these years of playing...

I believe the old crew left the company a new crew arrived and then there is the strategy of the faster the games more money  to be taken as in everyone ants the OP tanks etc , but I still enjoy the game that's why I play, if that changes I will move on to pastures new , with out the usual im leaving whine thread :trollface:
