Hi all,

This one is gameplay related as it getting a cramp or numb feeling in my arse from sitting on a poor quality computer chair for hours is definitely having a negative effect on my gameplay.

Think it's time I invested in a better PC chair. What should I look for in a good quality PC chair that will reduce the negative effects of hours of gaming. The weathers still a lot of old pants too so I'm gonna be playing games. I don't want to develop roids either or a some wonky back condition.

Thanks all, calling on you dedicated gamers who have walked that path and know!

Oh yes, I too know that pain and need to do something about it. I don't think I'll get a fancy gaming chair e.g. Diablo but something affordably comfy should do the trick.

DX Racer F-Series for me, 12h/day for the last 4 years and I never back back pain. The chair is really ergonomic unlike those 50€ chairs they sell who are apparently meeting all the quality control checks. 10/10 would recommend this char, but be ready to drop 300€ for it.

I use a DXRacer gaming chair after ditching my ancient looted office chair.

Expensive but worth it.

How long are your gaming sessions?   It may be that the chair isn't the problem.

all I can say is....., don't ask me :P

I just buy office chairs with thick padding, and tall backs. spent around 100 quid a chair, but then when you keep them for 10 years and are using it every day, it doesn't cost much in the long run

I think the chair and how you sit is more important than for how long... sitting in a bad chair for long periods isn't going to do you any good, but sitting in, for example, an expenisve HSL or back support chair? probably wont have anywhere near as much effect...

I got a Nitro Concepts E220 Evo Gaming Chair recently and it is a very nice piece.

MANY times voted best chair by a variety of folk / websites. I used to have an orthopaedic office chair, but this omega thing is amazingly comfortable.

I got a Topstar Headpoint RS, and its superb to sit in.

And its an office chair rather than a "gaming" one.

Just get one from Ikea.

(I did not even know there is such a thing as gaming chairs. Sounds South Park.)

Went from some ikea chair that was falling apart to HyperX stealth gaming chair a couple of weeks ago, totally worth it! It’s quite comfortable and pretty adjustable. I’d say you want adjustability and also change around height, back angle and such like twice an hour, the best position for your back is your next one! If you got a desk with adjustable height, stand up for 15 minutes every 2 hours or so. Works wonders for your back and rear!

Since everyone is different I strongly recommend you to bring your butt to a store and test out a bunch of models until you find something you like!

try sitting on some really rough wood with splinters or in hot soup for a little while. I promise you when you come back to your normal chair it will feel really good.

Depends on if you need to move the chair does it need to be on rollers or can it be stable.

You can also consider massage chairs to maintain the circulation if it doesn't need to be mobile.

(ps ask the Mrs to remove the buttplug after playing your other games with her)

Most workplaces tell you to ensure you take a break every 50 minutes or so to reduce strains, and then set you up with 5 hours of non-stop conference calls. Translating this to WoT, I do a little victory dance every time I have a win.

the chair can help, but sooner or later problems will appear, simply because we are not designed for long hours sitting in one place. its dependable on your phys. condition, age and position of your back while sitting ofc. i highly recommend exercise for lower back,15min per day will do wonders-more than any chair in any price range.

as far as hemoroids go (if you mean by roids, and not roids all the muscleheads in my gym think), there are other factors that cause it not only sitting, not to go in details but what you eat will largely effect it,dry food, not enough water consumption etc.

in my opinion exercise with quality chair will give best results.

cheers.

I recline on the bonkquette when I am playing, very comfortable. In fact have been known to have a little nap between arty reloads :)
