I mean obviously, if players report you for inappropriate chat, then fair enough, chat ban due.

I typed in "BC reloading" and received chat ban. So is there other factors ? such as volume of messages typed, or specific words ? is BC a bad word in the chat ban system ?

I am pretty sure that you were already banned when you typed that...

So think about what have you done in the last days/weeks.

Also a replay would help probably, not sure if everything appears on replay (for example your reload time is not shown in a replay).

Number of people reporting.

If you find enough toxic players they probably can report you for unsportmanlike and get you banned.

I don't think they have any other metric. :coin:

you were not banned for that remark I would be very surprised?

are you salty in game and have you been in some ones garage and lambasted them for any reason?

of course you do have redress to support , however if you do not get the reply you want don't copy and paste it to the forums that's a no no

hopefully you get it sorted .

I don't know about other people, but you earn my reports by doing one of the following:

If you are the type of player that spam ping on the minimap

If you are the kind of player who start out by claiming loss

If you complain about polish people or other nationalities (I mention polish people becasue they are targeted most often, but other times it will be some neckbeard tard claiming that eastern european players are ruining the game).

If you continually and uselessly tell me what to do (eg. "SPOT!!!!111!!oneone", "GO THERE RETARD LIGHT". Stuff like that.)

Stop doing that kind of thing and I am sure you won't be chat banned any more. Oh, and stay away from general chat.

The censorship seems a little askew as well can't even say what breed of horse my avatar is even though it was used by a well known Canadian forest machine company... :(

Most likely someone or someone checks out a swear filter when you get enough in-game reports. I use the chat quite heavily, though avoiding direct death threats, direct death wishes, ovens and names of the most serious diseases seems to do the trick. Questioning someone's genetical heritage or suggeting likely low oxygen consumption or lack of multitasking ability while obviously sucking eggs is apparently fine, however, combined with the occasional F-bomb.

(As for 'BC', it does mean a field toilet, i.e. a 'shithole', in a certain European language. Questionable value as insult - the BC is a necessity, after all.)

It is not always instant, there is a manual review of reports and then you get banned so you can't go on the last thing you typed.

Yeah 24hr from when I typed that message. so presume it starts from the next message you type after the system applies the ban.

Didn't type anything else particularly salty earlier today, but some tomato did come message me in garage yesterday to tell me i'm a "chit" player because a 430U jumped my Ferdi and I only did 600 damage to him. Obviously I told him the difference between my stats and his kinda proved who was this "chit" player.

So yeah, probably he reported me. Anyway, I'll try to bite my tongue more in future.

Probably the guy made a ticket and that caused your ban, and that 'bc reloading' had nothing to do with it.

From my experience i can tell you that you can be salty in general when in match and you are fine. But if you 'argue' with someone after the game with private messages, there is a great possibility that he report you or even bother to make a report to customer support.

If you use a mod or something that auto texts to the chat when you are hit by arty or something else,

"M12 hit me for 400dmg and is now reloading for X amount time."

"im spotted in D6."

these might trigger players to report you.

As it gets annoying really fast IMO, I just mute those players. :sceptic:

I'm serving a 48 hr chat ban and to be totally honest I'm surprised it took this long for them to catch up with me, i tend to avoid the really bad words but occasionally it has to be done..otherwise why would they have invented swearing in the first place i think my recent usage of the c word may have finally tipped the scales over the edge!

but most likely something as mundane as  calling someone moron can get you banned....

i once got chat banned for 7 days in another game for telling someone to shut up, so tanks is pretty forgiving

if people are that sensitive they should just leave the curse filter on and give no option to uncheck it!

tbh its quite nice I've switched of in game chat and remembered how much less distracting it is.

Just be nice to other players and you will never get a chatban.

Probably got banned because of the word "reloading", as it contains the letters "elo" which is...Polish, if I'm not mistaken? Yeah can't have none of that, english only please.

Or the forumite version...:

Probably got banned because of the word "reloading", as it contains the letters "ding" which are part of the name of a certain fish-drawing clan that likes to hang around these parts, worshipping a certain hamster...
