Not quite sure what they are trying to do with wheeled vehicles, also the imbalance shows a lot of botched fixes and half ideas, the sum total is that the game dynamic doesn't really seem to work so well any more as core things have been changed.

Everyone knew the way WG wanted to implement Wheeled vehicles was going to be bad. The mechanics behind it, and the reasoning, sounded half-arsed in every conceivable way.

It will be different as people have only been playing them for, at best, 1/2 a day. People have not mastered them yet, let alone know how to drive them. This is not another tank that we are used to driving (tracks) so expect to see many yolo's, out-of-control players and the crashes.

Which do you prefer to believe:

  1. Game became what it became because WG don't really know what are they doing.
  2. Game became what it became because WG know exactly what are they doing.

?

Let's see...

We have had a thread from a player that didn't want the wheeled vehicles in the game, yet free XP'd all the way to the T10 in the first day. Yeah, I think they know what they are doing. Players on the other hand, not so much.

One thing the wheeled vehicles will do is unsettle sniper tds and arty. They will also be great cannon fodder for standard lights and meds.

Personally I think they should have reviewed the lights before throwing more into the mix.

WG tried to force WoT formula on TWA, we know how that ended.

Is any other WG game that uses WoT formula considered a success?

Agreed people will blindly waste money/time on them as well. So WG get a short term boost... longterm effect to be seen though.

Yeh well, long term effects have been talked about for ages. Defender would break the game, Skorpion G would break the game, Object 268 v4 would break the game, Object 430 U would break the game and many of them were considered short term cash grabs by players. IS-3A...is the game flooded with them? Truth be told I do not see them that often, and what's it been, 1.5-2 months since it appeared in boxes?

None of these cash grabs seem to leave a lasting impact in anything else than player's pockets and WG's bank accounts.

Being fist to market and establishing a monopoly doesn't mean they know wtf they are doing. Lack of Tank balance,Map balance/design proves the exact opposite.

We have discussed this before :) I suspect the accumulated "negative" effect is the downward trend in players and the increase in negative posts. The forum compared from when I first visited now seems to have a very high percentage of complaints, when I first started posting it was a lot more friendly.

By the way the 268 v4 did break the game they had to nerf it :p

I dont think we have seen the real effect of the defenders and IS3a either when they get round to resolving the MM they will be back with a vengeance.

Yes, the forums seem more negative, but to me some of that seem to stem from players growing tired of repeating their own opinions for the 5000th. time. In the past when people didn't have the postcounts they have now, some of us at least, there was a sense of humor to be spotted even among people who were at completely different ends of the scales when it came to how they view the game. Hardly any of the forum posting seem to matter, so I guess people end up numb in all camps, and as such the performance and perception of tongue in cheek has shifted. What was funny banter in 2015 is now a dead beaten horse.

That said, I seem to observe far less raging over SPGs in chat these days, but more "omfg noob team go die imbeciles", or players complaining about eachother.

But the v4 didn't break the game as much as it broke people's expectations of what they should be able to achieve in a battle, both when playin the tank and playing against it.

A monopoly?  Really?  Surely if it was as bad as some paint it then one of the WoT killer games would have taken the custom away by now.

We know this is true as we heard it from the horses mouth. WG basically see the forum as a lot of whining... its an interesting stance to take.

To be fair though they do appear to show very little interest to the feedback on here, at least it was honest feedback. It's a very unique way of dealing with customers though in a social media obsessed world. Open a forum, slowly allow it become a toxic sesspit of hate and then announce you aren't interested.

I dont think any of their forum moderators will be putting that "achievement" on their CV do you?

As for the question do they know what they are doing? They are trying to make lots of money by milking an addicted but unloved customer. It wont last forever and with the recent decisions they are just speeding the demise up.
