Is it crap, or can't I use it properly?

AFAIK you need to have clear line of sight on enemy and the slower you go the closer you need to aim.

Nope works through terrain as well, at some distance however, didn't check if it's connected to view range limits

It just seems a bit hit and miss.  Sometimes it doesn't work when I'm right next to them.

It's only supposed to work if you have LOS to at least one spotting point on the enemy tank

On further testing I "think" it doesn't work in sniper mode.

Some external supplier could probably help you.

Do you know how auto aim works on reagular vehicles?

From OP it seem you do.

From the later replies it seems you don't.

Hint: it aims center mass only, does not lead nor does take turret travers into account, ...

Ya I found the same thing. It looks OP in the videos and then when you try it 40ft over the target.

They should change all auto aim to work like this

+

Don't have to click exactly on the target

Indicator on target that aim is locked

-

nothing

Well, it works even through a mountain if the enemy is spotted and you are relatively close

There was a mod that does this for all tanks. I used it in sometimes in 2014-2015.

It's illegal now at least on EU:

"Auto-aim or so-called aim-bots that provide more functionality than the aim lock in the vanilla client"

So basically while wheeled vehicles have "enchanted auto aim", other tanks aren't alllowed to have itt.

This auto aim is dreadful, from what is shown in the videos, it's basically misrepresenting and false advertising  .

Yeh, I know it doesnt lead etc, I'm talking about it just locking onto the tank.

Sometimes it works when I aim close to the tank, sometimes not and you have to highlight the tank as usual.

I'm also get the feeling it stops working when you are very close to the target.

Do you have a replay because it doesn't for me and if it does then it's a bug.

The closer you are to the target, the closer you have to aim at it. At long range you can snap at it way to the side. At close range you have to aim more or less next to it. The auto aim area is basically two beams going out from your gun at an angle. Anything between those two you can snap at.

Damned unfair if you ask me, I think all 43 % bots should be able to use aim bots, just to stop then getting trolled:popcorn:

Once you get to 44% though it is taken away from you, as for LT's in general they should all have the is new mechanic:trollface:

I think that's why it struggles at close range, it only locks if there is a spotting point in the scanning area and when you are close in it's easy to not have one inside the beams.

This makes sense!   Thanks.

Auto aim is called "Lock On" by WG. Here the details.
