I have done the tutorial before, and I did it today again and got nothing. I am not a new player. Can I get that tier 6 or not?

Yes i would really like to know this as well.   There's several tech lines i might be interested in jumping into WITHOUT having to spend a lot of effort reaching by grind.

Boot camp is the tutorial. That is what the tutorial is called. You get to it through the main menu though rather than through missions or battle type.

Nope.

You do the tutorial then there is a series of missions called boot camp, which are completed in random battles and the garage.  I have just run through it on another account.

Weird... since boot camp seems to cover a bunch that was already covered in the prior tutorial and there seems no way to redo the actual tutorial. Also you aren't put in 'random battles' (really bot battles, you are not up against nor allied with real players) until about half way through boot camp.

Did you get a tier 6 at the end, though?

is this restricted to only new players or can i complete thisand learn how to play the game and get a free tier 6 tank, that I can then sell for credits.

I feel this is so discriminating against non-newbie players

Confused. Liked the new tutorial.

Did menu > enter boot camp.

No token though, how do I get the tier 6 token?

Can the token only be used for the suggested tanks (I have all).

Thanks,

How can you recommend the 40TP but not the KV-2 or the Shermans..?

This literally makes no sense. And the excuse of players now knowing how to use HE is a bad excuse.

I'm pretty sure it's easier to explain how to play a KV-2 rather than sending out lambs to the slaughter in the 40TP.

I managed to grind through the 40TP only because I'm a very experienced player. But it's definitely a very unfriendly tank for any newcomers, as it lacks armor and mobility.

Heck, even QB mentioned how horrible it is. But it seems like WG doesn't even consider anything their CC's is telling them.

Also, no need to recommend the T-34-85. Just recommend people to pay2win for the premium T-34-85M variant, that is simply better.

Any Tier 6 Tank would be far less challenging and far more enjoyable if they fight tanks they stand a chance against

Tier 8 kills Tier 6 stone dead for enjoyable games when its all you get sometimes all day long

Tier 6 Tanks are Crap against most Tier 8 Tanks

like … who knew :sceptic:

The boot camp missions to get the token for the tier 6 include things like play 3 battles with equipment mounted, and earn a total of 250,000 credits.  And you complete them in random battles.

Yes, I used the token on the Sherman Jumbo because the tutorial gives you a 100% US medium crew with 6th sense on the commander.  By the time I had the missions done I had the O-I unlocked already though.

Did those missions show up under the missions tab then? And I am confused because what seemed to be the tutorial was reached via a boot camp button on the main menu...

Great that you got the token though.

Yep, just like regular missions.  I think they were unlocked by finishing the tutorial.

You forgot to mention the Churchill Gun Carrier

On a more serious note, why did you include the Jagdpanzer IV and 40TP (for which you have possibly the worst grind in the whole game), but not Sherman Jumbo or Hellcat?

"forgiving" in those 20% of battles that you are top tier ...

There is one thing these vehicles have in common: they are fairly forgiving - not just one or two vehicles of the line but the vast majority of it.

Well, due all corridor maps the Panther is utterly unforgiving... Hidden village, Komarin, Northwest, Pearl river, Port, South Coast and Swamp were Panther friendly maps...

As you say, the boot camp button is the one for the tutorial. To do the tutorial and actually get the rewards, you must have less than 1000 battles on your account. This has been the case since it was updated in 9.19.1.

The missions after the boot camp were introduced with 1.02, and again, they only appear if you have less than 1000 battles when you complete the boot camp.

So, if you are not a newer player with less then 1000 battles, no gold, no tank tokens etc.

P.S. Of course, the people who CAN benefit, CAN'T post in this section of the forum!

All you have to do, is quite literally: Read forum rules, follow forum rules, no more unapproved post.... I don't know how many more times I have to explain this in one thread.

The longer the list, the fewer people read it, the bigger the article the fewer people get to the end.

Why not encourage people to get to tier 10, as a business you want to encourage people to get to your end game content.

For the tanks you mention as forgiving, ease of use isn't just about how easy it is to do damage, but knowing nuances like angling, movement, and other items. The tanks you list, are they easy to use stock? Are they easy to use and "fun" to play even when you lack crew skills and training? Or not wanting to spend credits on special ammo etc. An example is the Su100 and its tendency for lack of camo and people not realising firing a big gun from the bush is not good combined with the accuracy hampering RNG on the gun.

The 40TP, for example, would you say it suffers hugely in anyone one particular area with the armour being good enough to do the trick of bouncing shots more often than not? Consider the person who has not got past tier 4 asking these questions.

I really don't know why the 40TP, the Jp4 or the VK 30M is there... none of those are even remotely good at what they do

the VK is the size of a house and has no armour

the 40TP is slower than most heavies and has no armour

the JP4 has no real penetration and has to deal with T8 tanks with far more armour than its AP shell will ever pen

surely this is also the reason why the JP4 should NOT have been added? 145mm pen at T6? need to use "gold" ammo just to pen equal tier heavies like O-I |(which you put in the list as well!), let alone higher tiers.... this cant be the main reason the KV-2 was excluded "changing ammo types" ?

what about the T-150? that has more survivability and a bigger gun than the other options like the 40TP.. what about the ARL 44? (that really doesn't need ammo type change, the DCA has 212mm pen, perfect for new guys who don't know where to aim yet!) I notice there are no French tanks on that list....

thank god you didn't put the VK 36H though, that would really be misleading the new guys (that tank is terrible against T4's let alone higher)

what about the Jumbo?

what about the Skoda T25 for a medium? it can introduce new players to an autoloader (which isn't present on the list)

just seems poorly made imho. there are far better tanks in this game to give to newbies than a VK30M or 40TP...…...

The gun on the Jg Pz is accurate and high enough RPM you can keep throwing it at enemies. The camo is good enough they don't have to risk being lit up like a Christmas tree

The KV2 is different in that people will generally play that tank VERY wrong until they understand HE mechanics and pen, aiming and movement etc.

The Jumbo and the T150 aren't pleasurable when stock and the ARL is one of the worst performings because players aren't used to it and especially struggle until they get the top gun. The Skoda has the issue with the size, low alpha a penchant for being focused by things that don't like you.

The guide lacked the following: Instead jumping directly to playing at tier 6 you might want to sell the tank for silver and buy proper equipment for your tier 5 tank.

Not everyone does this, even when suggested because everyone wants to go with the shiny new tank!

T-150 I bought back for missions and wished I hadn't, I don't get what people see in it.

With the Jumbo, spend 1500 exp on the derp and you are good to go.  It's one tank where upgrading it is a bad idea.  But then I can see why you would want to keep it a secret, don't want half a dozen of those in the opposite team.

Yeah that's the part of the funk is many people prefer the tank not fully upgraded which is counter-intuitive for new players :( I remember going back after suffering too long with it.

I'm picturing the firework display!
