Since 1.4 i can not play wot, as my CPU goes crazy. with No addons installed btw. i used Aslain before for the game stats, so i could follow my progress, but now i have nothing installed anymore.

I know i don´t have the newest computer ( intel core i5-2500 cpu @ 3.30ghz, 32,0GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 ) But before this patch i did not have this problem.

Guess my WoT days are over :)

I love those error reports... what do you mean "CPU goes crazy" ??

do you mean the cooler becomes very loud? and does the computer freeze, shutdown or become slow?

if yes, all you need to do is to replace the cooler fan and possibly replace the thermal paste.

Thanks for answer, yea sorry it becomes very loud, and my CPU use goes from almost no % to 70  - 80 %, and its Only in Wot btw.

Maybe something to do with this then..... https://worldoftanks...-4-concurrency/

Are you seeing any increase in FPS? If you are that's great and more FPS means CPU/GPU is working harder, not excessively, but this generates more heat therefore fan/s have to work 'faster' therefore more noise.

Maybe a clean out of the heatsink and fan is needed.

BTW my 6 core CPU is sitting at 100% when playing but not getting to hot.

Game utilizes the CPUs more, therefore they "go crazy" because they want to give you better FPS.

Doesn't sound bad. What's your cooling system, intel fan+ sink? How 'bout your case cooling? Have you cleaned them lately?

CPU's job is to "go crazy" as long as it stays under 100%.

I have massive FPS improvement and stability in 1.4.  I said this in one other post , saying it here- Xeon processors are much much better now!  From 60-45-60 1.3...to 60-59-60 1.4  all the time ..

Install something to montior the CPU temp etc. And see what it says when you play.  As pointed out above, the game got a new way to use the CPU's. As in more of the power that resides there. As before they used mostly one core. Now they spread it out more even and thus the CPU usages jumps a bit. But at the same time you should seen an FPS increase.

Fan going lould could mean it's working more so then that it's broken. It just amps up when the temps go up if the system is set on auto. As before WOT on my rig did use to little to even get warm for him to worry about the temp to increase the fan speed. So check the temps. If the temps are still good, even tho it's louder. It should be fine.

same worry for me:

i can set in the windows system

mini 1% CPU

and

MAX 10% CPU

via alimentation settings

with windows 10 it is respected

and the CPU turn at 1.2 GHz

BUT

with WOT :

it BURN à 3.7 GHz and more than 80% CPU on my 12 cores

the case who worry s me is that i CAN NOT regulate limit the speed of my CPU, and the heat he produce.!!!

WOT 1.3 :less than 20W CPU at 1.7GHz, 40 degres C and more than 120 FPS          all i need because i set WOT at VERTICAL SYNC 60 FPS

WOT 1.4 : i can not set limits when it runs and : more than 65W CPU, 3.7GHz, 60 degres C,  more that 80% always for CPU FOR 12 CORE

and more than        320      FPS , TOTALY USELESS

And when i set in WOT 60 FPS MAX, he still put my CPU in the ultra enormous useless MAX SPEED, MAX POWER, MAX HEAT and 60 stable FPS

I use OPEN HARDWARE MONITOR TO RECORD REAL TIME ALL THE PARAMETERS OF MY PC.

THATS NOT FUNNY

I7-5930K    3.5GHz (not 3.7GHz like push WOT) 16 Go RAM, SSD 512GB Crucial CT512MX100SSD1

2*  GTX 980 SLI  WIN 10

and i only play WOT   !

HELP WARGAMING HELP YOUR OVERHEATING MY PC FOR NOTHING.......!!!!!

yes, but I definitely had to replace the stock cooler with a better one!

the i5 had no problems, but the i7 was at 85°C under load with the stock cooler. new cooler brought it down to 60°C under load.

I also bought a barebones second hand rig from some guy for my son... it was dirt cheap, but the seller didn't mention it would overheat after 15 minutes of gaming.

took it apart, and lo and behold, the guy had not only used way too much thermal paste but also mounted the cooler fan in the wrong way!

works like a charm since I corrected it, never above 55°C.

They can't even make multithread working...

Why am i not surprised.

As the game now uses multi-threading. Of course it will make your cpu work harder you are using all the cores not just one. (only problem here is if you get no performance boost)

As for not running at 100% cpu utilisation.. running at 100% usage is fine in a game it just means all the cpu resources (or almost all) are being used for the game. Again the downside is more elctricity used and more heat generated.

Did you seriously just make loud fans into an excuse for quitting the game?...really?

Fan noise is not a concern, neither is CPU usage %. What you should keep an eye on is the temperature. I recommend installing RivaTunerStatisticsServer, it's an on-screen monitoring software that tracks the state of your PC's components, things like Clocking speeds, temperatures, and RAM. Oh, and FPS too if you so desire.

If your CPU starts reaching temps upwards of 75°C, you'll have to do something about it, such as: clean out the dust, replace thermal paste if you haven't done so in the last 5 years, or get an additional case fan to blow hot air out, and another one to suck air into the case, if your case has any fan-mounting areas available.

There are also certain programs which you can use to control your fan's speeds, such as in my case - AI Suite 3, which came with my ASUS motherboard.

MSI Afterburner can be used to overclock your GPU (though you can ignore that if your games run fine, and I wouldn't recommend doing it on aged GPU's), but it can also be used to adjust your GPU's fan speeds however you like. If your GPU gets hot aswell, which I'm sure of, that heat probably goes up into the CPU, heating it up further. So, adjust everything to suit your PC's needs.

Do not be afraid if it gets noisy, that just means it's cooling itself. Mine gets loud aswell, but it's mostly noise from the airflow because I've got Corsair's MagLev case fan (no bearings, no sound) and all I can hear is wind and the CPU fan. :great:

If you dislike noise that much, look for watercooling rigs. They're most effective, but costly.

In other words, you're as clueless as they come as this system is not at all optimal for WoT. Especially not pre-1.4. A single GTX 980 Ti with an i5 2500K was sufficient to run WoT at 120 FPS before for me. Currently I have no issues running WoT at 60 FPS (RTSS frame limiter, no V-Sync) with a spare GTX 780 Ti and that i5 2500K. No issues with overheating at all. But well, unlike you, I actually do know how to build, configure, run, and maintain my system.

The 3,7 GHz clock speed is the Turbo Boost for that I7-5930K  of yours, which it will run at when CPU is operating within design specs (temps, volts, power, etc). If you don't want Turbo Boost, disable it in BIOS.

And you based this statement on what?

Did you even try it yourself? If not, then let me tell you something - many AAA game developers should learn from WG how to make multithreading... Equal load among all cores - that's something you very rarely see, even in 2019.

i did try to cool it one time with a vodka drink, dos that count ?, cant recommend it though ^^

well yea watercooling would be good, but it have to be on my next computer i get at somoe point this year :)
