So this seems like a bit for some handy rewards and since I can't think of anyone IRL that I'd be nagging to start an account, I've swapped invites here.

So after a few battles yesterday I completed the bootcamp and played 11 battles, a few in platoon and I have:

2.5d Premium

500 gold

165k Credits

6231 FreeXP

2 Camo Nets

1 Toolbox

T2 Med 100% crew

M2 Med 20% crew 1st skill except  commander 100% 6th Sense+

M3 Lee (bare)

There a a lot of Credit and FreeXP rewards for a new Recruit including the free Tier 6, I'm at 103k/250k on the earn credits mission and have two steps left on the briefing one (gotta play 10 battles in a tier 4 then one last one).

and we have 28 referral points (out of 500 for 1st reward)

The referral points are earned by:

Recruit playing solo or in platoon

2pts for a win

2pts for doing  own HP of damage

10pts for a Battle Hero or Epic medal

Plus when playing in platoon with commander:

5pts for 3000 combined damage

15pts for each 5 battles played together

20pts for a BiA or CC medal

So what's our best strategy?

I'm thinking I out to grind through the M3 Lee of get the M5 (or T1 HT ) and complete those missions for the T6 then pick something decent at that tier that can platoon well.   If I can solo thought the arty grind a M44 can collect a confederate in most battles which will get a lot of points (and credits).

Or find a rental code and take out a T8 with an awful crew...............

So any thoughts, anyone else on this?

My view is that this is meant to be a bit of fun, some light relief with decent rewards so playing fun tanks would be the idea.   I'm not fussed about getting fancy reroll stats, but I don't like losing battles.   There will be no real money going into this account.

You want to get as high as possible up the tiers because doing 3k damage together in platoon nets you 5 points, which is obviously a lot easier the higher the tiers you go.

Plus you would presumably be doing 2 points per doing your damage in HP and 2 points per win, which I think you can get at the same time as the platoon boosts.

So if you both platooned in say tier 8 meds, if you then did around 1500 damage each per game, then you'd get the 2 points for more damage then HP, and 5 points for the 3k combined, and after 5 games you'd get another 15 points, and on average you'd win 2-3 games as well.

So 10 games played in platoon, say doing doing 3k combined each game + more damage than HP in say 8/10 of those games, plus an average of 5 wins, that would net you -

30 (for the 10 games in platoon) + 40 (for 8 games with 3k combined) + 8 (for doing your HP in damage) + 10 (for 5 wins) = 88 points for every 10 games played in platoon (if done in like tier 7+ tanks would not be too difficult to average IMO).

Which would be about 60 games in platoon per stage, made quicker by any epic medals you got or BIA/CCs you got.

Hence why you'd want to be doing it at higher tiers as possible because doing the 3k combined gets much easier.

I have invited one back, that got up to 180 points already with a Skorpion G rental that did appear. I did take the liberty of inviting back my 2nd account too that I've so far only used for private training rooms to explore new maps. Did the tutorial. Got a free tier 6 tank and picked the SU-100. Grinding the 122mm atm. As that one on this account is rather easy to farm some medals as top tier more so then not. Also got a 10 day T-34-85M rental. So got some credits going for upgrades.... and a potential better crew for the SU-100 via that due to the crew XP event.

Bear in mind that if there's a great event on, one might prefer not to waste it on an alt, assuming you don't have that much game time.

Oh and I had a look, there is some easy gold to be made if you want to play WoWp on the alt, not sure I will bother as I'm not sure what I want the gold for as yet.

One further thought.

If playing solo it's wins, damage>HP and medals for points and that all points to finding a decent Tier 3 or 4, I suspect.

If playing as a toon, then there is the 300 damage, which points to high tiers, but BiA will be easier at low tiers and the battles will probably be faster, bear in mind that you get 3pts for each battle played together (15 every 5).

AS ever it probably comes down to playing tanks you do well in, which perhaps leads me to ack for advice - what TD line might be most effective to take, if I was to take a TD as my free Tier6?   I played the Jackson and Kitty before (jackson much better) but I  have little knowledge of the other nations.

Step 1: Buy M2 Medium, Pz 1 C and some other clubbing low tier tanks of your choice

Step 2: crap on new players

Step 3: Profit

After 2 days my recruit already got around 350 points playing solo and with a playtime of around 3-6 hours in total, getting good crews and equipment is really easy with the new rewards from the tutorial and referral codes.

Plus low tier battles are really fast and doing your HP is something you will do 100% of your battles and its really easy to carry so my recruits WR is around 70-80% with M2 med and Pz 1 C, Top guns, high caliber and scout medals are also pretty easy to get at tier 3

Arty seems good to at least score 2 points for dealing your own hp in dmg each game.

you'd hope so, but also for those confederates.

Played 15 games in the M3 Lee tonight solo (won 12 ) and have completed bootcamp to get a 10-day rental on a T34-85M :child:.   Need 10k more XP, iirc to research the M5 Sherman, which completes the mission to get a free Tier 6.  Whatever about the referral program the intro for new players is completely nuts.

Ggs!

I'm thinking of activating my alt again, with the mentioned 1c, M2, the Cruiser with the derp, and the Hetzer fast progress should be guaranteed. Add arty to that mix and you're golden.

Wich leaves only two questions:

1) Wich tier 6 to pick? I'd probably go with either the Hummel or the M44, leaning to the M44.

2) Wich premium to pick at the end? I have the T92 already, wich is by far the most interesting for me. The 2 germans are crap from what I gathered. That leaves the FCM for wich I have no crew or the Prius, wich interests me less. Opinions, anyone?

My friend got a 7 day rental using the codes here http://forum.worldof...codes-20182019/ and then if you look on Youtube you can find new player codes like this https://www.youtube....v=Su2DGEAiFFM.  So my friend has a T 8 Prem tank(for 7 days),an Excelsior, 1500 gold and 10 days premium account. If you then do all the training missions you get more prem time, more gold and any T 6 tank without having to research it.You could also use the gold to convert to free xp,which would speed up researching. So my friend has already got 250 referral points, has 1.5 million creds and some good tanks researched. All in about 3 days.

Congrats, good that they made it much easier this time, the 1.0 referral took me over 4 years to complete and this one i already completed 1/3 in 2 days playing casually

At first I thought the effort was similar this time round. But on second thought it is a lot easier.

On an alt account you could play from tier 1 to Tier X in about 1K-2K battles. You could do that in less battles, but the problem was that you also needed the credits to purchase the tanks along the way and especially the Tier X is darn expensive.

Now, you need to collect 1500 tokens to get the tank. If  you play low tier battles and like the OP said  focus on doing at least your own HP in damage in each battle whether you win or loose you will in 90 % of the battles get a minimum of 2 tokens per battle. Add 50 % win rate and an occasional medal to it (don't forget to invite people during the battle to get that BIA medal) and one should be done within around 400-500 battles max.

Certainly a lot easier.

So you *CAN* get the T8 by playing only the commander account?

It has occured to me that this would make for a nice credit booster for someone with two laptops, simply platooning a commander and its recruit.

Is there anything barring me from letting my dog or kid play WoT? :P

I don't think so.   The recruit gets points on his own and the pair get more points for other goals playing in platoon .

Well you'd effectively be afking one or other at any time so yet I suspect you are breaking the rules.   And just don't, it's no fair on the rest of your team.
