I see that some people freely mention alternate accounts while others stating the same get their topics locked, so I'm curious are players allowed to have more than one account?

Officially, no. You can have only one account per server (EU, NA, RU, SEA) but not two on the same server.

However, that doesn't mean they can stop you from having an alt if you don't mention it...

Yes. As many as you want. source: "Dude trust me".

On a serious note: WG stated it somewhere at some time officially. I bet you'll find something in their EULA contract text. Some streamers with several hundreds of thousand of views even use more than one account.

It's rather odd, this thread got locked for being "unconstructive" with all the main bits edited, though there are some unedited parts left in Homer's quoted posts:

The issue with an alternate account is that it could lead to clanwar rigging, or otherwise match rigging when the chances are high of both getting into the same battle.

I would imagine there are no objections from Wargaming if someone wants to pay for premium time and tanks for two accounts simultaneously

In short, yes although I do not know why they would need one, just one account in this game drives you mad.

A lot of people i know have the two accounts on the EU server, never going to be me.

Plenty of people are clearly identifiable re-rollers and one player admitted on the forum to having an account for each nation. If it is prohibited, then lots of people are blatantly ignoring the rules.

Account sharing is forbidden. I'm not quite sure why but I expect it's that it could give two or more people access to Premium time and vehicles while only paying once. For a business, this is bad, obviously. It matters not if none of those players pay anything, though.

Rerolling players often seem to buy Premium vehicles and generate Free XP for conversion. I'm sure WG likes them.

That rule may have existed for other servers but not on the EU server.

What is not allowed is passing your account on to another person.

It is not. Wargeming staff stated a while ago here on the forum that they allow it with only one rule. If it ever goes wrong do not expect any help from WG to recover what has gone wrong. If you share your acount it is completly your fault if it goes wrong.

Ýes that is allowed. And why not as long as you obey all other rules. It only brings in more money for WG.

Well... Why did you think that WG added a "switch account" button on the login screen if you have "remember me" ticked?

Ins, but i think that was a rule in the distant past (multiple accounts not allowed), but was removed from the eula

and by passing an account on, i assume you mean selling it ?, i think you are correct

and as for account sharing, wasn't there a post from a staff member once that said, although not strictly forbidden, it was really not recommended

to avoid buying garages ((one account one nation one tanker)?)

to get access to training grounds (you need two accounts to open them)

to have ghost clans bumping battle times (WG support don't care about this either)

to make the minimum number for global map battles (bit of a pain but herding cats to turn up is never easy)

to test one tank against another, (like how far away until I always miss)

I guess it is possible to multibox more than one tank, especially if you have macros and speech macros. (I knew someone in PotBS claim he used a speech program to command his ship to fight as he wanted years ago so....).

The simplest benefit that having a second account gives you is that you can invite yourself to a private training room and do any tests you desire without interrupting spoiling a random battle This would require a second PC to run the account from, as you want them both signed in simultaneously, but as you'd only need to actually drive one tank at a time, that's not really a problem.

I did actually run a second account last year, firstly because I wanted to see what the new tutorial and additional post-tutorial missions were like.
