Hello :)

Once again its time for me to ask about Premium tanks.

This time around: what is the best autoloader on the shop?

I've been thinking about Somua SM. As I got it for a while with a bonuscode (or whatever it was) and now its on sale so I am thinking about buying it, but is there a better autoloader that I should get?

The balance of power and speed: Lorr 40?

The sneaky: Elc even 90?

Speedy, rapid fire: AMX 13 57?

Hard hitting: Somua SM?

the do it all beast that is the IS-3A?

Or mayby something else?

Bonus points if its french :great:

Thanks in advance. :honoring:

Somua SM is probably the most forgiving of the ones listed, I'd go for that. Having past experience with it also helps.

The somua has some hull armor, almost none in the turret and it's slow. It has worse dispersion than the lorraine, less view range, a little bit more hp and 2° of gun depression.

I can't see the appeal of something like the somua over the lorraine. If you want a good autoloader that will help you learn the game get a lorraine, if you want a bad heavy with imaginary armor get a somua.

IS-3A is not available in the shop, and I doubt that it will be any time soon....

It's obviously a matter of taste, and your assessment is exactly what I was thinking when comparing the stats. Funny thing is, it works much better than you'd think. Not really sure why, but best guess is that the clip size and reload (both shot-to-shot  and clip) are very relevant tools. Perhaps it's not common enough for most to realize what it can do and where to shoot it.

Lorraine 40t definitely seems like the best choice, but it I've been having some real issues between keyboard and chair when playing it it's bad WG plz buFf.

My favourite is the EVEN 90, though it's definitely not a tank I'd recommend. IS-3A is kind of 'broken', yet incredibly frustrating to play. Still the kind of tank that can give good games with one hand behind your back.

Somua is slow and the armor works sometimes, but i had hew good moment when I managed to clip a tier IX heavy tanks. so I think thats a good bonus to have.

I guess the somua works because it has 2k DPM which is insane for a tier 8 autoloader. That's as good as a lot of single shot tier 8 heavies and on top of that you've very good standard pen and good shell velocity.

My main concern if i am in an autoloader is being able to run whether it's for reloading or just escaping a flank. That's why i prefer the lorraine's mobility over the somua's questionable armor. Both are good but as you said it's a matter of taste and personal preference.

Comparing Somua to Lorr.

the gun gun is same but it has better stats on Somua.

Lorr is faster but gives up the armor.

But lets put it this way:

I am grinding for the murican autoloaders so which one is better tank to prepare me for the tier X T57?

T57 and Lorraine got very similar clip size and reload time. Also you cant rely on armor on those tanks.

And soon you'll have the Emil 1951 to add to your List....

I agree with the Somua though....     I have all on the List except the Even 90, of them all the Biggest Disappointments are the IS3A and the Lorraine 40T....     IS3A because the Gun is Trash at anything but In your Face Range and then it's just Not Good....     The 40T is the Reload, both Full and Interclip, but the biggest issue I have with it is Gun Handling....     It hits everything but the Target....

The Somua is by far more Comfortable to Drive and Operate than the 40T.....     Same Gun, Better Reload, Better Armor, Better Gun Handling....     It's effectively a Tiger II with an Autoloader for all Intents and Purposes....      That's not to say the Lorraine is a Bad Tank, it has it's Role and Purpose, but overall the Somua feels Better....

Thanks to you all for your replies :)

I will go with the Somua SM as it seems like the tank I would like to play and its closest to T57.

And most of you suggested it. Much Love :great:

12:27 Added after 3 minutes
But feel free to suggest more as im sure someone else who is reading this thread is eager to know what autoloader they should get.

It's not the best either.

Progetto 46 is far better as overall tank.
