My problems with FL

FL is back and the problem I had before are still here.

Artillery get 3 combat reserves.

It is near impossible to win while attacking. I played 8 battles. 4 times Defending side 4 times attacking side. Won all battles when defending. Lost 3 while attacking and the one battle I won, won it having only 3 seconds left on the timer.

This is why I never wanted to play it the last time and problems have not been solved. Being on the attacking team needs teamwork which does not exist in WoT. And something new that is happening to me is while I'm aiming in sniper mode, as soon as I press shift my aim is up in the air and not on the target. Never had this issue in Randoms.

Well, it still depends on RNG and the baboons players that you get in your side. Played 2 games so far, 1st one attacker - won, 2nd as an defender - won, but it was a really close one. So dunno, just managed to get 2 decent teams, thanks Almighty God of RNG.

Really? I have a hard time winning while defending, atacking is no problem imo..

Huh? My experience so far is exactly the opposite, out of 4 games 3 attacks and 1 defense i won all attacking ones easily with all 6 zones capped and the turrets not taking more than 2-3 minutes to fall and the one defense i played was the same thing but with me on the receiving end.
The arty can really support defense well, maybe hold 1-2 cappers at bay significantly slowing down the cap until someone mops up, but for any determined attack no matter how many reserves you have the base falls.

I hate defending, attacking you can actually do something and I think I've won more attacks than defenses.

Well looks like everyone has been having exactly the opposite of my experience:(

Even the first time FL came out, I had a hard time winning while attacking.

Tbh. I've lost more as the defender then attacker. Why? Well for the problem I had before.... that is still there. You can still attack objective 3 and 4. Without going near it from the other objectives.

Arty having 3 reserves is not why you are losing when attacking tbh. As any tank can use the same reseves at any time too. LT's have 3, TD's have 2 etc. And there are more of those then arty. 

 

But at least bombs only stun now.

IMO attacking heavies should get +1 combat reserve and defending arty should get -1. Playing any other heavy than the broken Defender is borderline masochism. You can't get anywhere, armor is useless against TDs camping with APCR, you get spotted halfway across the map and to repair you need to spend a full minute driving back.

Just one thing that I still am not sure about, If I use premium ammo and consumables but resupply in the battlefield, do I still have to pay for them?

Attacking is almost always lose because average frontline player is either: 1. a bot or 2. a coward farming damage and not capping.

If it's the same as last time, you pay for repar when you get taken out. And for anything upto the point when taken out if you use the tank again later. As this time the prices on ammo spent vs actual costs is not even close.

For me, I just can't seem to win a freaking game, played like 10, only won 1, and I'm doing an average of 9k dmg per battle... This is really even more frustrating than normal games.

5 games; 5 wins by attackers(thankfully I was attacking 4 times). Same bs as last time: if 3-4 attackers move from zone to zone to create a local superiority - 0 chances.

 

plus getting 1 of d, e, f means you can actually sneak to objectives in other areas(had a lt and myself take out 2 objectives by ourselves till ppl. figured out they have to come back).

 

defending was a waste of time; now, with the nerfs, it's just a bigger waste of time...

I agree arty shouldn't have 3 reserves, you shouldn't even get one with arty because giving arty airstrike, arty and its own ability to spot is just making it more broken.  It can do basically double indirect fire attacks.

Frontline was better last time. Attacking is too easy now and the games are too fast. I bet 99% of players dont want fast games in frontlines but attacker wins fast in many games.

Didn't we get all these FL whine threads last year when it was on the go, too?

I do admit though last year was something new, this year all interest gone, so back to pointless randoms then.

I've been banging away all evening and had QB on for most of it on my second monitor.  He's of the opinion attacking is better.  I prefer defence myself though.

update: 9 out of 9 attackers win. Wow, how surprising...

 

but hey, we'll all have 50% WR and everyone'll be equal =)))))

Problem is less attacking or defending, it is that some tanks are way too op in those battles : defender / skorp g / progetto ...
