You gotta remember that the map is way bigger now. So the sight compesating for longer distances then you might see on smaller maps. Thus the sight jumps higher on terrain change etc. Even more so if you aim up on a ridge line vs a target that disapears, and now you are aiming at the edge of the map 3km away.

I've said it before, it can't be that hard to make a setting for it, so you say that it should not compensate more then say the max render range or even say 500m. Not 1km or more making the sight jump over half the screen.

my aiming jumped from approximative center of the target tank to 50 meters above (the jump was huge) and immediately back and again, my aiming point didn't leave the target tank as far as I could see, but maybe my screen displayed something different from what the server thought I was aiming at

I have this problem too in frontlines, in randoms its ok. I wonder if it has something to do with the server aim mod?

Did send a few shells 200 meters over the head of my target due to this. Quite annoying.

One time I even had it so my middle "you're pointing here" dot was on the enemy tank but my reticle was at the top of my screen stuck to some clouds. Couldn't bring it down to shoot the actual tank I was pointing at.
Then again aim bugs aren't exactly new to WoT. There are currently several of them in the game that haven't been fixed.

This bug is like 8 years old and originates since the beginning of time but on FL it seems to be way more common, probably because the map is newer and less played/tested yet.

I have collected this feedback (from elsewhere too) and we've passed it on that some players are experiencing this. Please in future put it into the frontline feedback threads/announcement so it doesn't get missed!

It's not a bug, it's how the game was designed. On smaller maps it was less noticeable, in FL it's much more prevalent.

I'll try to explain it in short:

There's two different things you can aim at.

First there are tanks. If you're aiming at an outline of a tank your gun will automatically adjust its elevation so the shell would hit the target. Much like arty, only to a lesser degree, the shell will travel in an arc as it does in real life.

Secondly, objects in the distance. Here the gun will not adjust elevation automatically, instead your gun will be pointing wherever you are aiming at and the reticle will be showing you where the shell would actually land if you would to shoot. In other words it does not adjust for shell drop. The furthest thing to aim at would be the edge of the skybox, something that often happens when you're aiming up or at a tank on top of the hill. Imagine the skybox as a sphere around the map, as FL map is much bigger the distance to it is much greater therefore the reticle feels more "jumpy" as you are describing it.

As for the solution, I don't know. It depends how the game is coded, maybe completely removing the reticle when aiming at skybox or at vast distances? But in any case I felt like most people don't really know why this is happening and I hope this helps a bit.

only once and I was unable to shot anything in line of sight because the gun just kept pointing up then down. I was in an O Ho  and was 1 shotted by an IS3 for 1700, I didn't see an ammo rack message either. Nearly just quit the battle and be banned for an hour as my luck was so bad that match

It happens a lot in Randoms too. The reticle shifts but you still shoot where you aim at. It's annoying as hell.

Yeah, noticed it too.

Also, micro-lags that don't happen in randoms. (stuttering)

Yes and not even on the move so you can not blame that.

I have had it lots when standing still and the reticle is jumping and dipping.

The cursor shaking (mostly around badly rendered objects) and the lag-ish stuttering. Sometimes my tank keeps going by itself and I can't stop it. This lasts for a few seconds.

Yeh noticed it a lot when trying to aim at people peeking on that platform above the C cap, if you are below then most of the time you simply cannot aim at them.
